She must have got confused when he swallowed Kami and mistaken that. Although, KING Piccolo did devour a dragon ball, so that could be mistaken too. Easy mistake since They are one in the same technically π

It's not until he meets Gohan and discovers the rest of the Namekians that he finds new purpose in life!! It's no secret that Piccolo was Toriyama's favorite character, so it makes sense that he'd get such a breadth of development throughout the series and in that way, it's great to see where he started, character-wise! Even the Super Hero movie was meant to be a solo Piccolo movie before Toriyama was convinced to include Gohan in the story, if you weren't already aware!

All thanks to Gohan of course, the only human/sayian who unconditionally showed him kindness. Love them both sm
