I love Olivier so much. Not my favorite, but she's got some real good badass moments, especially with General Raven, and of course the tag team later on. Again, no shortage of strong female characters here. I dare say, they're not just strong female characters. They're strong characters. Period.

Yes you are correct to notice the parallels of Amestris, Xing, and Drahcma to Germany, China, and Russia. Something I don't think quite set in yet is that "treason" is a concern but not the actual reason Ed doesn't want to share information. It's that the Fuhrer is literally holding Winrey as a hostage if he does try to spread information about the homunculus. Incidentally he can be charged with "treason" no matter what he choses to do there since he would be endangering the country by disobeying it's ruler or allowing a threat to go unimpeaded

2022-12-08 23:58:13 +0000 UTCI would disagree about Olivier being a copy paste of Izumi, even tough their personalities have significant overlaps their roles on the story is completely different. Also, I can't see teacher joining the military, she even scolded Ed for doing so. Besides the tough women type of characters they don't have that much in common imo

2022-12-08 23:36:25 +0000 UTCI can agree with that. I def like Izumi more that Olivier. Izumi is my fav character. I do notice the similarities between them but i prefer Izumi because she seems more deep. I just like Olivier’s character design a lot.

2022-12-08 22:40:07 +0000 UTCUnpopular opinion: Olivier Armstrong is mid. Lame. I think she’s a boring character. She’s just a copy and paste of teacher. Their personalities are the exact same except teacher is memorable and cool to me and Armstrong is just really unlikable. They say she’s strong but she doesn’t do anything except act like an a-hole.
