2024-02-17 21:25:01 +0000 UTCGoku is 12 at the beginning of DB, Bulma is 16, Yamcha is 16 (same age), Tien is the same age as Yamcha, Roshi is about ~300. He was the strongest human for the longest time until Goku, Krillian, Tien, and Yamcha. They all eventually surpass him. During DBZ (we learn in super), Roshi trains in secret and while not as powerful as the aliens, he does have the ability to enter the Ultra Instinct state (manga) and in the cartoon, he can raise and lower his power level at will through a human type of transformation that allows him to enlarge his muscles and maintain his stamina for a temporarily period of time. This level of power is increased with ki blasts. My guess is he is on the level with Android 18 at this point.

Yamcha did get his groove back fairly recently in Super, he easily took out some Galactic Patrol Prisoners that’d earlier been giving Goku some trouble. I love his dramatic finish against Nappa in FighterZ too. In case you couldn’t tell by now, I’m a Yamcha fan lol
