Bruh, when the doctor told Sarina he'd be willing to marry her when she turns 16 (ie. when it's technically legal), that wasn't him being creepy. That was him reassuring the little dying girl that she's just as pretty as her favorite idol, that she doesn't need to be reborn to be liked and that she's gonna live. Obviously the last part didn't come true, but it's not like "lies are love" wasn't a big theme here. People do tend to find the beginning disturbing and yeah, the doc not denying the option of dating Ai was a bit eeh, even though it was clearly played for a joke - but I definitely don't want no slander when it came to his relationship with Sarina-chan. He was a great doctor and quite obviously her best friend. What he calls "slacking off in patients' rooms" was in actuality him spending time with a lonely 12yo girl at her death bed, cheering her up from behind his "just-here-to-avoid-work" façade. If you buy his words and expressions at face value, sure, he's just a lazy and sarcastic guy who's being kinda weird to a little girl. But come on, it doesn't take a sleuth to see through it. As and aside, Miyako had such an amazing arc, largely off-screen. From a woman who married for money and influence to a fake-mother-turned-real. We're shown at first that she's being nice to the kids because "God promised her a hot guy", but then at the end we see how along the way that motivation has changed drastically… Or perhaps you could say that the lie became the truth?
