If I recall, that trick Vash did to get to the power room fast inspired a similar scene from the first underworld movie. I heard the creators of that franchise were big anime fans. Also, rip brad, you were a real one. He was just like all the other people on the ship, just holding onto a desperate false sanctuary on that small piece of the seeds ship that didn't fully crash, because they were afraid of the unknown, and put up invisible walls between themselves and others. But the rest of humanity who crashed on the planet over a hundred years ago had to struggle through hell to make a new civilization in such a desert.
