The show is giving us some very strong hints to view Hisoka as sinister in the real world sense, clearly alluding to something perverse and i don't believe this is done lightly. Obviously it's not explicitly stated so it will always be a hypothesis. As far my reading/viewing goes, Togashi isn't a fun of mental gymnastics or sugarcoating regarding the darker themes he uses. Rather, he incorporates them in a raw and often visceral way into his writing and challenges the reader/viewer weigh things for themselves, like what to make of Hisoka's truly unsettling behavior even if he is a very intriguing character.

2025-09-17 19:39:48 +0000 UTCHere's my take on Hisoka's "attraction" that I believe has always tracked. He is an immoral creature who is attracted primarily to strong nen users, or people who have strong nen potential. That attraction is all-emcompassing, including sexual. It can be anyone, any gender, any age, and since he is immoral in that regard, it does extend to children like Gon and Killua with high potential. So yes, you can label him a pedo for that, but I dont believe his motivation is due to them being children, if that makes sense.
