Inside the small, isolated room aboard a merchant ship hijacked by the Alvida Pirates.

A short, timid-looking boy with thick glasses and pink hair was pushing a wooden barrel when three pirates—one skinny, one fat, and one dark-skinned—blocked his way.

"Well, well, looks like you actually found something useful this time, cowardly Koby." The skinny pirate smirked wickedly.

"T-This is part of the crew's loot! If Lady Alvida finds out, she'll kill us!"

Koby stammered nervously, glancing at the three pirates.

"Then we just won't let her find out. Simple, right, Koby?" The dark-skinned pirate grinned menacingly.

"Y-Yes! You're absolutely right!"

Faced with intimidation, Koby immediately put on a smile.

"Let me crack this thing open!" The fat pirate raised his fist, preparing to smash the wooden barrel open.

BANG!

Before he could react, a pair of fists shot out from inside the barrel, landing squarely on his chin and knocking him out cold.

"Ahhh! That was such a good nap!"

Luffy popped out of the barrel, grinning ear to ear as he stretched and yawned.

"Who the hell are you?!"

The remaining two pirates recoiled in shock and fury.

"Huh? Why is he sleeping here? He'll catch a cold."

Luffy tilted his head curiously as he looked at the unconscious fat pirate on the ground.

"That's your fault!" x2

The two remaining pirates bared their teeth angrily.

"You little brat, do you have any idea who we are? You looking for trouble?!" The skinny pirate pulled out his sword and pointed it at the straw hat boy.

"Got any meat? I'm starving."

Ignoring them completely, Luffy turned to the dumbfounded Koby and asked.

"Can you focus?!" The skinny pirate shouted in rage. "If that's how you wanna play it, then die, you little brat!"

"Hmm?"

Just as Luffy turned to counter, something unexpected happened.

BANG!

A terrifying force blasted the pirate away, sending him flying across the room. The sound of bones shattering echoed loudly before his body crashed into the ship's wooden wall, completely motionless.

"Y-You…?!"

The last remaining pirate looked on in horror at the sudden appearance of a striking young man.

"A-Ah…"

Koby trembled as he watched in terror.

A single punch had taken out the pirate instantly. The sound of bones breaking had been so sharp and clear.

This kind of raw power… It had to be even scarier than Alvida herself, and she wielded a giant iron club!

"Who are you? You're strong! Why'd you help me?" Luffy grinned, baring his teeth in excitement.

"Luen. Just a passenger on this ship. These pirates hijacked it, so I'm cleaning them up."

Luen smiled as he looked at the famous Monkey D. Luffy.

So, this was the real deal.

His gaze then shifted to Koby, who was trembling in the corner like a frightened clown.

Finally, he had found him.

A small smirk formed on Luen's lips.

"Luen? I'm Monkey D. Luffy! Nice to meet ya!"

Luffy grinned wide.

"Likewise."

While they were talking, the last remaining pirate shrieked in terror. Grabbing his unconscious crewmates, he bolted out of the room at top speed.

"T-This is bad! If he calls for backup, they'll kill you both!"

Koby panicked, his voice filled with fear.

"Man, I'm hungry."

Luffy ignored Koby completely and rubbed his stomach.

"I've got some food from a banquet. Meat—do you like meat?"

Luen chuckled, pulling out a prepared meal.

"MEAT!!!"

Luffy's eyes sparkled as he pounced on the food, devouring it ravenously.

"Luen, you're a great guy! You are the best!"

Luffy grinned between bites.

Luen chuckled in response.

Did Koby, a mere clown, really think he could earn favor just by feeding Luffy?

Luen turned to Luffy and thought to himself: "Show the Traits."
