[D.C] Ch 5: Dimensional Gate

— — — — — —

Nighttime

On the bed, Hestia was peacefully curled up on top of Klaus, sleeping like a baby.

Her arms and legs were wrapped around him like an octopus.

Klaus, on the other hand… was wide awake.

Staring blankly at the rough ceiling, hands behind his head, he let out a quiet sigh.

This place was...

He shook his head and muttered to himself, "Sure, I can put up with this for a few days… but living here every day? Yeah, no thanks."

"There's not even a proper place to bathe. This really isn't sustainable."

"I need to hit the dungeon tomorrow, hunt some monsters, make some cash, and start improving my living situation."

"At the very least, I should be living with Hestia in that giant mansion from the original story…"

The Hearth Mansion.

As the thought crossed his mind, Klaus mentally summoned his cheat.

"System, open the newbie starter pack."

[Confirmed.]

[Congratulations! You've received: The Eye of Truth, a Virtual Storage Space, and a top-tier magic staff.]

[The staff has been placed in your storage. Don't forget to check it out.]

[Eye of Truth – Allows you to instantly see another person's hidden ability stats, skills, and magic, just by looking.]

[Storage – Lets you store and retrieve items at will, with no space limitations.]

[Thousand Feather – Amplifies any magic cast through it to the max. Inlaid with ninety-nine ultra-high-grade magic stones. Can also be used as a long weapon. Estimated value: 9.9 billion valis.]

After reading the item list, Klaus's eyes lit up like fireworks.

He was thrilled.

Now he even had a weapon to go with his ridiculous starter magic and skills.

Talk about a perfect opening!

And as for why there was no armor?

Please. Klaus was a mage, not some brainless berserker.

He didn't need to charge into the front lines and brawl with monsters. He just had to stay safe in the back and nuke everything from a distance.

Especially with a spell from [Feathers of Oblivion] that let him fly?

He'd basically be an aerial turret. Untouchable and unstoppable.

Speaking of flying—

In Orario, there was actually someone else who could fly too.

That would be…

The captain of the Hermes Familia: Asfi Al Andromeda, their Jack-of-All-Trades.

She used magical tools—like the Hades Head and the Talaria—to fly and turn invisible.

Right then, the system popped up again.

[Ultimate Quest Unlocked.]

[Objective: Defeat the last of the Three Great Calamities – the Black Dragon.]

[Reward: Unlock Dimensional Gate to other anime worlds.]

…And that was it.

The system went silent. Typical.

"I'm gonna be hopping through different worlds now?"

Klaus frowned slightly, feeling a little resigned.

"Seriously? Just one newbie starter pack and a final boss mission? That's it? No side quests?"

Sure, he started off OP—but thinking about how the system might never reward him again?

Yeah, that was a bit of a letdown.

Still, better play it safe. No point in dying in some random alley because he got cocky.

"Open character panel."

In the next second, a blue screen popped up in front of his eyes—visible only to him.

[Name: Klaus]

[Race: Human]

[Weapon: Thousand Feather]

[Abilities: Eye of Truth, Virtual Storage Space]

Looking at it, Klaus finally understood.

This character panel would display everything he acquired from other worlds in the future.

Whenever he entered a new world and gained new powers, they'd all be added here.

He shook his head with a soft sigh and dropped the thought.

Right now, the top priority was making money.

And boosting his strength fast—enough to become an OP adventurer.

In this world, anyone who explores the Dungeon is called an "adventurer."

They're divided into lower-tier and upper-tier.

Anyone with just a Level 1 Falna is considered lower-tier—and that includes most adventurers in Orario.

The gap between Level 1 and Level 2 was like a giant abyss.

To cross it, you needed real talent.

Once someone leveled up, their strength didn't just grow—it transformed.

Normally, a Level 1 adventurer couldn't possibly take down a Level 2.

Even for geniuses, the leap was huge.

For example, Ais Wallenstein—the Sword Princess of the Loki Familia, and a rare high-elf hybrid. Even she took a full year to go from Level 1 to 2—and that was considered breaking all records.

Her feat shocked not just Orario, but the whole world.

As for regular adventurers without that kind of natural talent?

They might spend two or more years grinding just to have a chance at hitting Level 2.

Some would never reach it at all, even in a lifetime.

So yeah… leveling up wasn't easy.

But that only applied to ordinary people. Klaus wasn't one of them.

...

The night grew deeper.

"Mmm… Klaussy~~"

Even in her sleep, Hestia murmured his name with a smile.

Klaus chuckled softly, gently patting her head.

Then he finally closed his eyes, drifting off into sleep.

---

Meanwhile…

In another part of Orario—within Twilight Manor, home of the Loki Familia.

In one of the rooms…

Bete, the werewolf, was tossing and turning in bed, totally unable to sleep.

Somewhere deep down… Bete felt an unsettling sense of dread.

Like something big was coming.

But what exactly?

He couldn't say.
