Untold: Swamp Kings Episode 2 (UNCUT VERSION)

We continue this eye opening series into the early 2000s Florida Gators. An influx of young talent energizes the team, though the recruits have yet to be tried and tested on the playing field.

Please Note: As mentioned in the recent update post, you must provide your own copy of the movie/show to watch along with our full length reactions, as us uploading videos with the entire movie/show would be in breach of copyright and we have no intention in doing so.

I was a student at UF during the Tebow years and was sitting behind the goal posts for that blocked Field Goal kick vs South Carolina. It is to this day the loudest game I have ever been to. I missed only one home game from 2006-2010 and it was some of the greatest years of my life.

New Patreon and just had to share the UF vs Ohio State championship game from my perspective. My dad was born in Ohio and went to Ohio State, but we now lived in Tampa, FL. I was taught that I rooted for Ohio State and all the Cleveland Browns/Indians/Cavs (thanks a lot for that one, dad) or I moved out. I was either 7 or 8. Well in about 1990 my older brother went to UF and so I asked my dad if it was okay if I rooted for UF (in a joking way, he wasn't a monster). He paused and said, "Yeah, we never play them anyway." Fast forward to this game. The entire year I'd go watch games at a bar on Saturdays wearing my Ohio State hat and my UF hoodie. The whole time between announcing the teams were playing and about 30 seconds before the game I couldn't decide who I wanted to win. Finally I decided Florida (51% to 49%) because Ohio State had won a more recent championship and my dad making me root for Cleveland teams definitely had me leaning toward the underdog (which UF definitely was). After the opening kick off that was it, knew it was over, oh well. Them coming back and dominating was basically when the SEC REALLY showed the rest of the country what what speed was. Ohio State was considered the fastest team in the country, and UF's big defensive linemen were faster than almost anybody on their team. The SEC won the football championship the next 7 years in a row. My dad died in 1994 so didn't get to see this game, but remember how I got to that point as a funny story. Oh, by the way...that same year Ohio State played UF for the BASKETBALL national championship as well (UF won as an underdog again)!!! Are you kidding me???? My dad would have been laughing his ass off. Keep up the good work, guys!

The guy at Buffalo is a five star cornerback who was expecting to come in and start....he has not yet I believe.

Another cool coincidence- The '06 Gators Football Team won the Football National Championship in January of '07....3 months later- the Gators Basketball Team won Back-2-Back Basketball National Championships becoming the first School in NCAA History to win a National Championship in Football & Basketball in the same season (ironically the 2007 Basketball National Championship Final was also against none other than Ohio State)

Usually I go to 247 Sports for Recruiting rankings....at the moment October 11th 2023- there are currently 32 5-Star Recruits for the 2024 Class......For Context, according to the NFHS (National Federation of State High School Associations) there are roughly 1 Million Boys HS Football participants (that makes it just 0.003% 5 Star Recruits)

It’s an incredibly rare honor to be a ranked recruit, regardless of the amount of stars. There are hundreds of thousands of high school seniors playing football and less than one percent are ranked recruits. The vast, VAST majority of players will see their organized football careers end in high school. There are merely dozens of five-stars. These players are truly the elite talents in the nation. The talent needed to play not only in college, not only in Division 1, not only in the FBS (Top subdivision of Division 1), not only in the SEC, but for an elite program in the SEC like Florida is staggering. That Arkansas team that Florida played in the SEC Final was a a rushing juggernaut with the tandem of Darren McFadden and Felix Jones. They’re one of the best running back tandems in my lifetime. Ohio State only had to play 12 games because the Big Ten conference didn’t have a championship game at that time. The team with the best record automatically won the conference championship. The Big Ten has since expanded and added a championship game held every year in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Love this series guys! Props to whoever recommended it. I am glad that you guys get to see the intense and competitive nature of college football. Schools like Florida consistently put a great product on the field and recruit some of the best athletes from across the country. Unfortunately, that also includes some of California's best athletes opting to leave the state and play at powerhouse programs like Bama, LSU, Texas, Ohio State etc.. We do have USC, Oregon and Washington but they are at best a tier below. The intense training and weight lifting allows the players to take those big hits and get right up for more. In person, those hits look even more ferocious. The exclusives on Patreon are great. You keep this up and everyone will be here for this great content. You continue growth and understanding of this game is a testament to the hours and hours of work you both have spent watching and learning this game. Football is literally a religion across most of this country. You might notice that a lot of women and girls are also big fans. Especially in college, but also in the NFL.
