2023-10-16 04:37:31 +0000 UTCJust a heads up if you do a video on NBA arenas. They’re less visually unique compared to MLB and NFL. Not to say that they’re all the same but the differences are less pronounced. Great series! While many still consider the Bulls dynasty to be the greatest it should be said that the Celtics once won eight championships in a row. So no double three-peat but an eight-peat haha I’m sure you’ll hear a bit about it in the Lakers/Celtics series!

2023-10-13 13:43:14 +0000 UTCIf there were any more seats in the arenas, nobody except the closest 20K would be able to actually see anything

2023-10-13 00:47:26 +0000 UTCNBA and NHL teams usually share arenas. Trying to watch both sports with more than 30 or 40k ppl in attendance causes terrible sight lines for anyone not in the first 10 or 15 rows. An NBA court is only 94ft long compared to a football pitch which is over 100 yards. They'll be novelty games in NFL stadiums like the winter classic or exhibition games but for the sake of in person attendance it would suck to watch.

2023-10-12 22:05:17 +0000 UTCIt's been great to see you guys enjoy this series! To give you some extra bits of information in regards to the aftermath of the 1998 Finals: -Phil Jackson would go on to coach the Los Angeles Lakers (my favorite team) across two different stints from 1999-2011. During this time, Phil and the Lakers would go on and make 7 NBA Finals appearances, winning 5 of them (including being a part of another iconic 3-peat with the Kobe/Shaq Lakers (2000, 2001, 2002) and winning the other two as part of a back-to-back run (2009 and 2010). Phil Jackson has ELEVEN championships as a coach, which to many makes him one of the greatest coaches not just in the NBA, but in all of sports -Here's a fun fact in regards to the whole Rodman going to WCW during the 98 Finals: Rodman had already made some appearances in WCW prior to that and even had some matches as well. A month after the 98 Finals ended, both Rodman and Karl Malone faced each other on a WCW PPV in a tag-team match. Rodman teamed with Hulk Hogan and represented the nWo, while Malone teamed with Diamond Dallas Page (who you saw getting attacked with steel chair shots from Rodman and Hogan during the episode). Rodman and Hogan would go on to win the match -As for MJ, he would go on to become a part of owner and president of basketball operations for the Washington Wizards in 2000. However, his second retirement as a player only lasted for three years before coming out of retirement in 2001 to play for the Wizards. The reasons for this decision was due him to once again getting the motivation to play basketball after being inspired by the comeback of Mario Lemieux (who he befriended and you guys have reacted to) to the NHL in late 2000. Jordan would play for the Wizards until 2003 before finally retiring from the NBA once and for all. He is currently a minority owner of the Charlotte Hornets (after selling the majority of his stake, thus no longer being the majority owner, for $3 billion this August) -Steve Kerr ended up being traded to the San Antonio Spurs where he would win two more championships in 1999 and 2003, his last year as a player in the NBA. Kerr would go on to become a broadcaster over the years on national TV for TNT. He would then move into coaching and going on to coach the Golden State Warriors and make 6 NBA Finals appearances as head coach of the Golden State Warriors with wins in 2015, 2017, 2018, and 2022. -And as for Pippen and Rodman, Pippen would go on to play for the Houston Rockets and Portland Trail Blazers before coming back to Bulls and retiring with them in 2004. Rodman would only play for two more years in the NBA, playing with the Lakers in 1999 before retiring with the Dallas Mavericks in 2000. -Finally, in regards to the viewership of the 1998 Finals, it was and still is the most watched NBA Finals in the history of the NBA. It averaged around 29.04 million viewers on NBC, with the deciding Game 6 being watched by an average of 35.9 million viewers. It was reported that around 72 million people in the US tuned in and watched at least part of the game! This made it the most watched NBA game in NBA history. The only other game to come close since was Game 7 of the 2016 NBA Finals between the LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers taking on Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors (who had broken the best regular season record of the 1995-96 Bulls (who went 72-10) by finishing 73-9! This game was watched by an average of 31.02 million viewers in the U.S on ABC.

2023-10-12 20:36:05 +0000 UTCThe classic 2-3-2 Format....Because of the Finals being Western Conference vs Eastern Conference- it created traveling logistical headaches if they went with the classic Conference Playoff Format of 2-2-1-1-1....It was not until the 2014 NBA Finals that ALL NBA Playoff Formats will follow the 2-2-1-1-1 (Stanley Cup Playoffs also go 2-2-1-1-1 while in MLB, they still hold on to this day to the 2-3-2 Format for both League Championship Series as well as the World Series)
