The Sandlot (Uncut Version)

Join us as we check out the October movie of the month, The Sandlot! We were pleasantly surprised at how much we enjoyed this feel good family, baseball movie.

You must provide your own copy of the movie/show to watch along with our full length reactions, as us uploading videos with the entire movie/show would be in breach of copyright and we have no intention in doing so.

Thanks, we obviously can’t catch everything, that would be a boring reaction 😂

A lot of your nitpicks were explained and you missed it because you were talking. I.e., while you were talking about golf balls, Benny was signing the ball (poorly) and explaining he knows it's bad, but it was just to fool the mom and buy them time. The treehouse never blew up. The vacuums blew up in the tree house. It was just dust. Also, while you were talking, Smalls explains how he got together every erector set he ever owned to build that machine. And kids didn't conveniently hang out in groups of 9. Baseball teams need 9, so naturally if your playing baseball, you find 9 kids.

The reason American house numbers are so big is because the first number of the house block historically was how many miles away from whatever downtown is closest the street is. So their house number started with 15, so they're roughly 15 miles from downtown LA

Watching on my phone and i get no volume for the movie — just you guys talking abd you all are blocking the movie display????

I’m looking forward to that one but it will be in future polls! Appreciate the comment Clint!

I know Major League was on the poll and didn't win but even if you aren't doing it for a video, you guys should definitely watch it. Its a classic mature baseball movie. Hilarious lines but also a pretty good story and characters.

Haha, we aren’t worried. Hoping at some point in my life I’ll be celebrating my independence from the English too and moving across the pond (Nick) 😂 I’ve definitely heard that term being used before so I’m glad I know the context now!

Damon Richmond

it's interesting that we celebrate our independence from you guys on July 4th so hard, considering we all consider the UK our greatest allies now for over 100 years. It's nothin' personal fellas, don't worry haha Also, "you're killin me smalls" is still regularly used even in corporate America/the law practice when you mess something up. Otherwise, this movie is pure nostalgia aside from some legitimately good moments - it's no Moneyball or Field of Dreams, to be fair and it definitely has plenty of cringe moments rewatching as an adult

Pete Finch

My god this movie brings up so much nostalgia. This film is the most perfect depiction of life as an American child in the 60s, which is a phrase my grandfather used to tell me all the time as a child.

FYI, "Murderer's Row" refers to the 1927 Yankees widely considered, to this very day, the greatest Baseball Batting Lineup ever (let alone one of the greatest teams ever winning the World Series in a 4 Game Sweep with 110 Wins in the Regular Season)

Damo, why you gotta challenge Nick every time on American terms- it's your fault I keep siding with the Man United fan🤦‍♂️ (Yes lads, it is called a "Mexican Standoff")

JT Rebel

The significance of the Babe Ruth/Hank Aaron moment is Babe Ruth was Baseball's "Home Run King" until Aaron broke the then 39 year old record and became the New Home Run King (and imho, still is) Edit: No, that is not Hank Aaron in the picture as Hank Aaron was 1 year old when the Babe retired in 1935 LUL

We record the full and cut version intros at the same time, then chop them up to make them make sense 😂

This movie is just nostalgic fun. Adults love it because it just totally nails what it was like growing up as a kid in America especially during the summertime when there was no school and baseball season was in full swing (and there was a chance at ogling the local lifeguard at the pool). The kid actors really felt like they were a real group of friends and the dynamic between them all was fantastic. My friends and I still quote this movie all the time to this day especially "you're killing me Smalls!"

Kevin Steinhelper

For some inside baseball context a baserunner is "in a pickle" when they are caught between two bases in a run down back and forth like what Benny was in a few times. Also would love to see you guys react to the Rocky movies!
