2023-12-30 08:34:45 +0000 UTCHey a stroke of genius litterally just hit me about the episode title. This series came out in 2006 so it was probably recorded near the end of 2005. Around that time a big country artist, Toby Keith, was still releasing music. It was either on his 2002 or 2004 album that he released a number one hit on the country charts called “who’s your Daddy.” The song is talking about a girl who’s torn between lovers, and the end of the chorus is asking who’s your daddy/who’s your baby/who’s your lover/who’s your man. Given what’s going on with Lila/Tim/Jason the title could be referencing the song and asking Lila, Who’s YOUR Daddy? It’s something that people who arent well-versed in country music mightn’t get, but it’s also become outdated since the show is nearing 20 years since it started airing so it’s not really in pop culture or at the top of the charts anymore.

2023-12-29 00:34:08 +0000 UTCAt 42:28. Almost at the end of the episode, the radio announcer, talking about the rivalry game, he says, “and didn’t Daddy tell us, winning goes to the one who wants it most”. Doesn’t say the who’s your daddy quote, but this daddy reference is kind of the same thing.

2023-12-28 23:45:14 +0000 UTCI’m being completely honest when I say that I’ve now seen this epsidoe in whole or in part seven times (watching with y’all is the 7th time watching the series for me) and I’ve still not heard the phrase “who’s your daddy” in that episode. Usually it’s obvious when it’s said…but I can’t figure it out on this episode. I’m sure google could tell me but eventually I’ll figure it out and that’ll be more gratifying.

We had to do it twice per year in gym/PE class and class performance reflected on how good the PE teacher was doing at his or her job. Our numbers should have improvement at the end of the year over the start of the year or questions would be asked of the teacher.
