Sometimes they don’t even use words. I remember one season when Notre Dane play callers would hold up these huge pictures of different paintings along the sideline. I’m assuming they were also calling plays with strings of bizarre words, but the paintings were a nice bonus.

2024-03-15 14:06:27 +0000 UTCThis is why the most successful teams over the long term keep their coaches, even after the odd mediocre season. Every time a new head coach is hired, the whole damn team needs to learn how to speak a new “language” and get rid of whatever old language they spoke last year. C this is why teams why cycle through coaching staffs every two years are destined for failure.
