People might complain about the huge mana pool from the network but considering what FGO is doing. This is minor. Though the scene where Gerard wanted to make Saber learn the difference between making love and raw sex...it just feels that it's missing something. He kinda just went and have hard sex with her instead of slow and steady like lovers. Hard to make a comparison without an example.

I thought the Mana Network didn't require any foreshadowing. Gerard's Magecraft specializes in sex. A Mana Network seemed the most logical step a Magus with that skillset could have/want. Howard's skills come from practice. Gerard just gave him a few pointers. Howard is part of the network because Gerard sent a woman his way to ensnare him since he fucks a lot of other women, thus spreading the Network even further.

That said, I can’t help but feel dissatisfied by how easily Gerald gets into Seibah, and how the fat guy whose name I’m momentarily blanking on happened to be a conduit for Gerald super sex thrall web that just happened to exist. It feels a bit cheap because a lot of effort went into corrupting Rin, and the fat guy actually having all of his sexual skill come from magic is a bit disappointing. Plus the random chance that Seibah happened to be working for him and decided to go to him of all people. Oh well.

2018-02-01 06:10:19 +0000 UTCA weird part of me is slightly annoyed by Gerald’s “just as keikaku’d” moment when Seibah fell into his trap anyways even though she went out of her way to mitigate it. That part’s mollified at Seibah nearly wrecking his shit without Rin’s intervention (though I wonder how Rin avoided alerting Seibah to her presence, considering Seibah’s Instinct and Rin’s lack of Presence Concealment).

A magus would have a lot more magical reserves. Sooner or later that fat man isn't going to be enough to feed her magical needs. Either she goes back to shady magus guy or find more 'men' to give her magical energy.

The way i see it, Shirou returns, gets captured, finds out what happened, not fully (the manipulations and schemes in the fall, for if he knew of those he would be quite angry), and loses hold of his humanity fully becoming a "sword" and thus seeks to do what swords do: kill. like everyone.
