changes in Patreon?

Hi all! I'm thinking about implementing some changes in how Patreon works.

The most important, is I'm thinking about dropping the monthly suggested pieces.
I enjoy doing them, but I have noticed that as time goes on, I receive less and less suggestions. It feels like it's always only the same 5 people suggesting ideas out of almost 70 Patrons (which is why you often see me drawing for the same people).

I often advertise the free suggestions to FA and twitter but it hasn't really been an incentive for new patrons to sign up. Since yesterday, I haven't gotten a single suggestion on my Halloween post which I thought would instead be fun and interesting :( so, maybe it's time to change things up?

Right now, I pick three suggestions a month, one for every tier. If people don't care about them so much, maybe I should change the method, and not do them monthly anymore. I'd still take suggestions from you Patrons of course, but only whenever I feel like it; maybe every couple months or so? I could offer more frequent YCHs, too, and more polls, to give everyone a chance to vote their favorite characters and subjects, rather than suggesting them.

So tl,dr, the question is:

WOULD YOU STOP BEING A PATRON IF I GOT RID OF THE MONTHLY SUGGESTIONS?

Your art is always good and still love the art that you drawn for me I would love to keep supporting you,and will miss the monthly suggestion if you decide to drop it

Thanks. I was having a very bad weekend when I wrote this. But still, I can't help but feel a little guilty.

I am sorry you feel ashamed! you have no reason to be, don't worry! you are very supportive and I really appreciate it :)

I was hesitant to put a halloween suggestion because I was afraid it would reduce my chances of having one of my ideas chosen for next month. I feel ashamed, for that and a bit for everything...

Aww you shouldn't feel guilty, since it's ME who is asking for the ideas to be submitted! But I can understand ADHD not helping ;;

Ahh I see! Thank you for your feedback.

Yeah, that's how it works. The 2€ tier is the one with the most suggestions, so at least in that tier I have been able to draw for a different person every month so far. The 5 and 10 tiers have a lot of patrons, but only a couple of them send in ideas.

I've had a message that says: "Don't want to use the form, or can't access it? Send me a message here on Patreon with your idea, and I'll add it to the form myself!" on my suggestion posts since July. Hasn't changed anything. The list of do's/dont's are there because people asked for them ^^;

You might get more suggestions by simplifying the process for your patrons. If I recall, the last few times a suggestion post went up, patrons were asked to submit a Google form, and in that form there were also instructions to read the Request Guidelines first which list about fifty kinks sorted by artist preference. It's a lot of clicking and reading which can be intimidating for some; compare to e.g. Insomniac's suggestion posts which just tell people to write down an idea in the comments. Making a request shouldn't feel like doing paperwork!

I was always under the impression that if something isn’t chosen it gets put in the next months thing. I’ve been a subscriber for many month and haven’t gotten my suggestion chosen so I’ve been waiting for my thing to get picked haha

I have a lot of trouble coming up with new ideas these days. I try, but I just freeze up when I'm trying to think of things. ^^; I've been relying on everyone else to come up with neat ideas. They're fun but not why I'm a Patron.

I'd miss the monthly suggestions, but I understand your frustrations. I have ADHD so any ideas I have immediately delete themselves from my mind unless I write them down as soon as they come. On top of that, I feel guilty asking for multiple characters(especially if it's done for free), so I have to limit myself to just one. It's hard for me to think of things without focusing almost entirely on it, which is why I almost never get anything done.
