2023-04-13 21:50:21 +0000 UTCAwesome reaction! This episode is so good at balancing the comedy and the serious moments. Not that most of DBZA isn't, I just feel it's shown off well here. Cell was so excited to fight Gohan after he snapped only to be terrified minutes later. Gohan was just a pure badass taking out the Celll Jrs and fighting Cell. Goku finally apologizes to Gohan for how he treated him and to be honest about their year together in the time chamber. Fun fact, Goku was so confident in Gohan because he transformed in the time chamber first. Goku and Gohan had been training for a long time, Goku said it was time for a break. Gohan got back up and insisted they keep going. Then Gohan jumped from his base form to SSJ 2 for just a moment. Its a flashback the audience gets when Gohan is fighting Cell.

2023-04-09 21:22:17 +0000 UTCMy explanation for Piccolo not stepping forward for Gohan's breakdown is that despite him caring for Gohan he's still pretty emotionally distant. Even if he wanted to help he'd probably talk himself out of it. Best dad still ain't perfect dad.

2023-04-09 18:01:53 +0000 UTCI laughed so hard at your reaction to that ending, it was so good. Fun fact: that heartfelt moment with Goku is actually a subversive capper to a triplet gag. If you remember, back in Season 2, Gohan had a moment where he thought, "What would Dad do?" He then pictured Goku saying, "Bye, Son!" Then, in the History of Trunks special, after Gohan expresses frustration with Goku being dead, we get the vision of Goku, again, saying, "Bye, Son." Now, here, we get the resolution to that joke, as they deliver it a third time, not as a joke, but as Goku's arguably most heartwarming moment.
