Krillin goes through an enormous amount of growth during OG Dragonball. Krillin starts out as a sneaky, dishonest character, who is constantly scheming against Goku for Master Roshi's favor and who shares Roshi's worst attitudes about women (although in fairness to Krillin, he's a kid going through puberty and Roshi is a grown ass man). But after a few adventures with Goku he turns into much the same character we know today. i.e. the most relatable and least dysfunctional character in the whole damn show.

They’re picking up from after TFS, ofc. It’s better this way instead of starting over. And it makes for a neat reaction experience since they only have TFS and games to work off. I’m curious of what their take is on the world of the actual anime and the characters (and their relations) since they were indoctrinated through humor initially.

We ended up buying DVD box set of DBZ Kai on Ebay. Could probably find one on Amazon as well. It was something like $38 for all the seasons. Considering it'll probably take us awhile to finish this, long run it'll be cheaper then paying for a streaming service just for DBZ Kai.🤗

Unfortunately, I'm unaware of anywhere you can stream Kai. You may have to buy the bluerays. Adultswim used to have a licence to for the Buu arc (called 'The Final Chapters'), but I couldn't find it when I went to check.

Can anybody recommend where I can find DBZ Kai season 5 to watch along? I’ve got a funimation subscription but Kai isn’t available on there and I can’t find it anywhere else to stream. Any recommendations? Thanks!

I started rewatching this season when you guys announced you were going to be watching it, and I'm very interested to see you're take on it. The Buu saga does have...some...pacing issues? Especially in the first half of it. After that, it starts to move again and becomes much less stodgy. And Buu is friggin' horrifying when he gets going. The Cloud that Gohan is riding was a gift given to Goku by Master Roshi for rescuing his turtle (in turn given to Roshi by Korin). Only those who are "pure of heart" can ride it. Ironically, Roshi was never able to ride it himself except when he was much younger and less...uh....well, the way he is now. Neither could Krillin (they were both too dirty minded). But Goku, Gohan, Trunks, Goten and Chi Chi were all shown to be able to ride it at various points. Another character from OG Dragonball called Lunch (renamed 'Launch' in the English dub) could ride it, too. But Toriyama forgot she existed in DBZ. She was Tien's potential love interest. In a brief, non-canon crossover, Luffy (the main protagonist from One Piece) is also able to ride the cloud.

Honestly this is amazing I’m glad you guys are getting into dragon ball z! Definitely get into dragon ball super after this is done because it’s Cannon to the storyline afterwards!

Super pumped to go through these Kai episodes with you guys!! I don’t know if it’s in your plans but when Kai is over you DEFINITELY should watch dragonball super. It picks up after Z and is phenomenal in my opinion.
