Aight so I was wrong, this part of the anime was based on the original stageplay, which could be considered the actual source material. Still a great episode.

Really glad they didn't just copypaste the game's story and be done with it. I'm sure it would've worked fine, but if Yoko Taro is one thing it's extra af, so of course he would write a new alternate version of his story. We also got from what I can tell entirely new OST this episode instead of them using the game OST. btw Anemone, who probably died in the flashback, originally pretty much took the role of Lily. She was the resistance leader and had a similar past to Lily's.
