Also, tfs really didn’t change Mr Satan’s personality in their show, so he’s practically the same character in both the real show and abridged. He’s just that good! The Savior of Earth!

They had a brief adventure together where Chi Chi developed a crush on him and got him to agree to marry her when they grew up. He agreed, but he didn't know what it was (Abridged didn't make that up; in the source material he also thought that marriage was some kind of meal). They don't meet again until the final arc of OG Dragonball where Goku is 18 and a mysterious woman turns up at the World Martial Arts tournament who's really pissed off at him (she's offended that he doesn't recognize her, or remember his promise to her). He doesn't recognize but, but she breezes through the qualifers and fights Goku in the first round. She can't land a hit on him because the power difference is too big, but she tells him she'll tell him her name if he can defeat her. So he does. REEEAAAALLY easily. He knocks her out of the ring by waving a hand at her. After that, she tells him her name and he remembers he promised to marry her (although Krillin has to tell him what a marriage is). Chi Chi offers to let him off the hook since he didn't know what he was promising, but Goku decides to go ahead with it since a promise is a promise. That's.....literally how they got married.
