I could totally see this going two ways, either the sudden approach to the topic makes Madeline super aware of her feelings towards it and they get a bit more nervous around Marigold and it’s possible that Madeline will get a bit more skittish around her possibly avoiding full on conversation or interaction until she herself fully understands her feelings. Building up till a breaking point where Marigold suddenly is the one to take the first step. Whether it be a form of comforting, or a form of hot and passionate sex. Orrrrrrrr the more tragic route, where suddenly they just slowly grow apart because of the sudden approach to Madelines feelings, where she’ll just try to distance herself because of how Melanie mention that “I mean who’d ever fall in love with their roommate that’s so weird! Right?”and because of the sudden distancing both Marigold and Madeline might have their feelings start to wane. Definitely a more sad kind of side but possible. Or maybe there’s a third possibility that my mind isn’t seeing.
