Although we've seen spoilers before for Dragon Ball and just not noticed it was a spoiler so maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to check out intros for AOT 🧐

2023-05-12 18:10:57 +0000 UTCThis version of Trunks had Goten to train with, who's also abnormally strong. So they would have dragged each other along much faster than Trunks training on his own. Future Trunks didn't really start training with Gohan until he was in his mid-teens, and he only had a few months of training. Although I'm thoroughly unconvinced that kid Trunks ever actually catches up with Future Trunks post time chamber. They're both certainly stronger than Trunks was at the start of the Android Saga, but after he emerged from the time chamber, Future Trunks was way beyond them (otherwise, certain events during the tournament arc would have gone very, very differently).

As you need to know it so far, in order of authority from lowest to to highest, it goes: Kami/Dende King Yemma (basically Anubis but Japan) King Kai/North Kai, equaled by what I call the cardinal Kais. There’s North, South, East, and West Kais. Then, Grand Kai. Grand Kai has never been shown in canon, but he’s above the Cardinal Kais and there was a 5-episode filler omitted from the end of DBZ Kai that was briefly shown in the end-series recap (seen here: https://youtu.be/rX1bo8xTvh4) between Cell and the start of this saga where Goku fights in a tournament in the afterlife.

You really love what you watch and you pay attention and it shows. I never stick around for the sort of debrief most channels do, but I can’t help it with y’all. Stay awesome. On another note, I have two thoughts. 1. Check out the original DB if you can, it’s so different in pacing and style and adds so much context to Dragon Ball Z. I would argue it’s the more story-heavy of the two, and it’s more martial arts focused rather than power-focused. Check this opening out and see if it looks interesting (don’t worry, it’s pretty much spoiler free, especially without context): https://youtu.be/8aM_8ROW4Ms Akira Toriyama, the author of all of DB-DBS, is a gag mangaka (author) at heart, and DB reflects this way more than Z does. So many silly moments, so much random fun, and it’s all one big adventure. The only hard sell for y’all is that Vegeta is not around in this original series, at all. Everyone else is, though, so it’s not hugely different. DB ends literally right where Z picks up so it’ll tie in really nicely. On top of that, the entirety of the series is paced really nicely, unlike Z, to where it doesn’t have as much of need for a Kai at all. 153 episodes that contain 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 arcs of varying lengths. Much easier to digest in its entirety than Z which only has 5 or so arcs that are 55-60 episodes a piece on average. 2. This arc is, in my opinion, the most batshit crazy in all of Z. Get ready for a wild ride from start to finish.
