2023-05-29 20:37:04 +0000 UTCThat's really cool that he was thinking about cosplayers and making them comfortable. ๐ And really, there is so much entertainment now that we can all be super critical of everything because we've seen so much and even people that have never gone to film school or art school, etc. are still experts in a way just because of how much we consume. ๐

2023-05-28 01:44:27 +0000 UTCFun fact: The show never gives the name of the Gorilla Grimm, but it's official name is "Beringel", which is likely a nod to the scientific name for subspecies of gorillas "Berengei" (It's either that, or it's referring to a town of the same name in southern Portugal). Thanks for reacting to the Monty tribute. I'm like most fans of the show, and never got to meet him. I only know him through his work, and through the stories and tributes of his friends and fans. I have lost count of the number of stories I have heard of how Monty's work inspired people to take up animation, or how his philosophy on life inspired them to chase their own dreams. Hearing songs like Cold and others, where his friends share how much he inspired them, drives home not only what a loss it was; but also tempers it by saying that as long as his ideas live on to inspire people, his impact will continue, and he will in a sense also live on. I said a long time ago that despite its flaws, this show was made with heart, and in your reaction, you perfectly hit on why: because it was never about the job or the money, it was about making people happy. (Heck, in his goal of making people happy, the man is even quoted as saying he made sure that character designs for RWBY included pockets or pouches, so that cosplayers would have a place for their phones and wallets at conventions). You've passed the crucible of Volume 3, and Cold, and are now officially members of the FNDM (fandom). Thanks again, and see you in Volume 4.

2023-05-27 20:50:51 +0000 UTCThe candle that burns twice as bright only burns half as long... Monty was one of those legendary artists - his choreography, his animation, his designs, even the artistry of the scenes themselves and his usage of unbroken lines for captivating images... He gave so much in such a short time, it's sad to think of all the things he could have given us in the future as well.

2023-05-27 19:56:00 +0000 UTCMonty's work was so revolutionary for a self taught animator. If you're interested in seeing some of his older work I recommend checking out Haloid and the six episodes of Dead Fantasy
