2024-03-30 12:42:32 +0000 UTCUsopp is mainly the comic relief character of the crew, but I definitely agree with both of you that it's hard to latch onto him as a character of depth at the beginning. That being said, Usopp has HUGE, HUGE moments in the anime that definitely ground him as an important and relatable character in later parts of the story, so hopefully whenever you both are able to watch the anime you'll be able to see those major Usopp moments

It’s a meme that it’s one of the lamest anime backstories of all time, especially for a fan favorite character like Zoro. My guess is the live action made it vague since it’s so clowned on.
