Mackenyu Arata, the actor who plays Zoro is trained in various martial arts and sword fight. He did all of his own stunts in this series safe for maybe one or two. He is a badass in real life it comes out naturally in his acting.

Do you remember how in the first episode he says that “I can’t swim”; that is because sea water is basically this franchise’s Kryptonite whenever you consume a Devil Fruit hence why he was trapped in the box in the first place
