2024-05-01 15:53:15 +0000 UTCGoing into this series, I was hesitant. One Piece is one of my favorite stories ever told and it's not even finished yet. I was pleasantly surprised with what they were able to do with this live action. They didn't change too much but and the stuff they did change made sense. I'm so happy that more people are getting into this show because of the live action. Hopefully, if the live action doesn't make it far, you'll give the anime a chance. There's actually a remake of the anime, that's gonna be titled "The One Piece", being made for Netflix. It's a complete restart from the very beginning of the story with new modern animation. Maybe you'll give that one a chance instead because I know how intimidating it can be to jump into a series as long as One Piece. I was hesitant to watch it but now I'm caught up to both the anime and the manga and it's one of the greatest decisions I ever made.

As much as I love the live action, I don't think it hold a candle to what the anime and manga are. The live action is such a good entry point to the series and really gives you the feel for what the story is about. They did something that many people thought was impossible and they deserve their flowers for that. Also, I'm right with Bethany about Luffy being my favorite character. Luffy isn't just my favorite character in One Piece though, he's my favorite character in all of fiction! If you love him already you will definitely like him even more as the story progresses.

2024-04-23 01:19:55 +0000 UTCThe idea of Arlong taking on the Marines was honestly kind of laughable. He was (no pun intended) a big fish in a very small pond. While it's true that there aren't many people in the Marines (or in the world) as strong as Garp, there are a lot of Marine Captains who could mop the floor with him, too. Even if they're only a fraction of Garp's strength (Axe Hand Morgan was weak as hell for a Marine Captain). But even if we just pretend for a moment he could beat those guys. Sooner or later the Navy would send a monster like Garp to bring him to heel. And Garp (or the sword guy who acts as Garp's adjustant) would one-shot Arlong and his entire gang.

It basically summarizes this past season of the Live Action that you guys just watched, and you can check it out in English or Japanese, whichever you prefer

And I don’t expect them to pick up the anime. That might be a bit too much for me to keep up with. Especially, when I’m trying to catch up eventually. So just one video showing the cool openings and how they progress and seeing if they can piece things together. That’s why I like blind opening reactions.
