Elden Ring DLC Launch Trailer Reaction

Shadow of the Erd tree is here. Looks badass. Let us know if you've been playing it all weekend and how it is.

Elden Ring DLC Launch Trailer Reaction

Comments

I played it on release, took me about 26 hours to finish it (though about 3 or 4 hours were spent trying to reach secret areas). I've heard that some players had complaints about it, about the bosses being "poorly designed" and the DLC being tedious as a whole, but to me it's all hogwash. About half of the DLC map, if not more, is optional, but it brings A LOT of interesting pieces of lore. There are places I never thought I'd ever see, things I didn't think I'd ever learn about. It brings entirely new bosses, new NPCs with really short but interesting quests, it brings back a couple of things that were in Dark Souls games but not in the Elden Ring main game, especially regarding secret areas and how to reach them. Exploration is so satisfying. The dragon we see a lot of at the end of the trailer is entirely optional, quite hard to reach, and tied to 2 optional NPC questlines. What I liked most is that what the DLC's final boss is and what Miquella wants to do are only revealed near the end, and it's quite surprising, while the main game tells you from the very start "retrieve the shards of the Elden Ring, and take Marika's place", so you're already aware of what awaits you.

I'm glad to see you guys reacting to Elden Ring again :) In terms of VaatiVidya lore videos, i believe the next one in line for you to react to, is called: Age of the duskborn I think the both of you will find that video, quite interesting.
