I always looked at it as since Azula showed promise pretty early on she probably spent more time with Ozai training and hearing his thoughts on the world etc. Since Zuko didn't show much promise, he probably didn't interact with his father all that much and spent a lot more time with his mother. As a result their personalities started to match the parents that essentially raised them.

2024-07-31 15:23:41 +0000 UTCyeah, without going into Azula's psychology it can be very easy to dismiss her as "She's crazy"

2024-07-31 08:02:05 +0000 UTCIt's always great to see episodes like these that temporarily take the focus away from the protagonists, it's like Hit from DBS getting his own episode or like Sasuke when he got his own episodes in Naruto. And you guys are right about Zuko's family, it had it's problematic family dynamics where you see the good ones like himself (at the time), his mother and Iroh, and the crazy ones like his grandfather, his dad and Azula. He's really had a tragic life and why he's such a complex character some of us can relate to at some point in our lives

2024-07-30 21:15:10 +0000 UTCDefinitely donβt do this yet but after you guys are done with the series there are a couple fantastic videos by Hello Future Me that go over Azula and Zuko from a psychological perspective and really dive into their characters and how they gradually are explained/developed as the story goes on that I think you guys would really enjoy and I mean it goes deep into it even to the point they explain and give potential disorders they could possibly have or have had developed. Obviously a post series thing but theyβre super good videos

2024-07-30 02:09:48 +0000 UTCMight be an appropriate time to mention that there are a handful of books that continue the story when you finish the final season. You should consider some video versions of them when you get there. Also, glad to see you remembered that I mentioned they're called bumpers (sometimes also referred to as an Ident). If you're interested (for future content) the Nostalgia Critic has a great intro video to bumpers all about several of the iconic ones that used to be shown on Cartoon Network https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KvMCdunHIIY

2024-07-29 20:40:12 +0000 UTCAppa is technically just know as a sky bison or flying bison, but he is a hybrid of a bison and a manatee (mostly the flat tail)
