Their symbol is the wolf, and back in the Dark Ages, some of the Guardians (or Risen, as they were known at the time) among it's ranks often tamed them which added to their infamy. (When we became an Iron Lord in D1, Saladin started referring to us as the Young Wolf.) So when he gave the girl his crest, he was basically stating that she was under the protection of the Iron Lords. And so she used the authority and infamy that the crest granted her to survive the only way she knew how -- extortion, brutality, and murder. 2024-08-08 19:05:50 +0000 UTCFor clarification, the Iron Lord medallion Lord Saladin gave to the child was a symbol of protection. In translation, don't mess with this person or a lightbearer with super powers will come for. Considering the time period when that story happened, where humanity basically had nothing, that meant a lot. The messed upped thing about this story is that the Iron Lords were beginning to have a reputation as the good guys with super powers and not the lightbearer Warlords. As for Crow, the next season will be a deep dive for him and some other characters. I liked the story elements this season, but not necessarily the grind.
