The name Vegeta wanted was Echalotte, which is a play on a type of onion. I like to think it’s her middle name and Vegeta calls her that. :)

There was one strong one we know of since Z, which I assume is what you’re alluding to. Whis or Shin (can’t remember) decided to abandon the planet hopping to help them better allocate time, not because the other worlds are weak

An older anime, but it was the first thing that popped into my head when you mentioned mind battles. I'm sure there may be some other, more recent anime that have similar themes.

2024-08-20 21:53:53 +0000 UTCI feel like shin's line about U7 having only 28 inhabited planets (which doesn't seem like many planets for universe 7 especially since the universes in dragonball are meant to be humongous) gets contradicted in the future arcs in super as those arcs explore many other planets and species that were strong and could have helped the universe 7 team plus there's a quote "Universe is big" when talking about Universe 7 and it's planets from a certain character in the future arcs,I wouldn't be surprised if shin's statement was more guesswork from his side than actual fact as he has been shown to be incompetent and not keeping an eye on all living planets in universe 7 so it would be in shin's character to get stuff wrong especially when it comes to observing the universe and it's inhabitants. Frieza probably did a better job when it came to observing the planets etc in universe 7 as he had loads of planets under his rule for many years and was still conquering many other planets for many years. Sorry if my comment went off at a tangent regarding shin being bad at his job. Also it was actually Yamcha who said "are we under attack" the second time when Vegeta got angry and powered up.

2024-08-20 20:15:01 +0000 UTCEven though it actively contradicts what was said, I choose to believe he simply meant 28 inhabited planets of intelligent life, or only 28 planets with people who could be considered suitable combatants. In any case there's no way Frieza didn't have at least like, two dozen outposts; that man's name was FEARED across the universe.

Back in 2017, a non-canon spinoff manga came out titled "That Time I Got Reincarnated as Yamcha" written/illustrated by DB fan creator dragongarow Lee. The story follows a high school student (who happens to be a massive DB fan) who dies and gets reincarnated into the Dragon Ball world as Yamcha. Using his knowledge of the series, he manages to make Yamcha into somewhat of a badass main character by knowing how NOT to die and get stronger. It's not exactly what you had in mind, but it's a fun quick read imo that gives Yamcha more respect than he receives from most of the main series.

2024-08-20 19:28:07 +0000 UTCThe disrespect on Yamcha is ASTRONOMICAL, really wish he had a chance to shine for once after many years of being a joke. Echalote is like Shallot, which is always said to be a small onion. Shallot is also a Legends character. More character building for Krillin, and it makes me happy to see Goku calling him his best friend. I mean they've been together since they were kids. Next episode is possibly my favorite in terms of more character development.

2024-08-20 19:06:44 +0000 UTCThe name of Bulma’s new daughter “Bulla”, like Toppo, is another name that gets tossed around in localization. It’s a different interpretation of the word “Bra” pronounced with a Japanese accent that falls in line with the Briefs family’s underwear name puns (Bulma = bloomer). Which translation you stick with doesn’t matter too much. I’ve heard that this change was made for censorship reasons through word of mouth, but I don’t know if any official material has ever cited this as being the actual reason. Could be Funimation wanting to be consistent with the name they gave her for DBZ and DBGT.

It was likely brought up to justify using weaker fighters such as Krillin and Roshi instead of trying to find noteworthy fighters from unexplored planets. Still, some fans saw it as an unnecessary blow to Dragon Ball’s world-building as many feel that an entire universe should be packing more than 28 planets with life, especially with all the unnamed U7 races we've seen throughout the series.
