This episode is where we first hear some of Iroh’s new actor. The part with the broken window and kids was actually Iroh’s replacement actor. I think that’s the only line the new actor recorded for season 2. Everything else is Mako

I forgot this episode was up in the lineup & was not ready 😭😭 Toph & Katara's tale is a cute & sad testament to the girlhood these girls don't get to have. They get a wonderful bonding moment for a very rocky relationship. Iroh's is a double sadness. It's the sad story of him losing his son & wishing he could've done better for him than his regrets of this war. But it's also his voice actor Mako passed away during this season's recording, his new VA had actually refused to ever sing the song because it was Mako's song. Sokka's is that comedic relief after heartbreak, as usual with him. Then Momo brings you right back to sadness. He isn't the only person to know about the footprint either. πŸ‘€

These two suck. Check out this channel instead: https://youtube.com/@definitelynotdefinitivegames But on a serious note, here's the short I was referring to. It's spoiler free, but it is related to avatar in one way. https://youtube.com/shorts/brUfxYg3P18

😁

Bethany and Ken

Iroh, destined to be the firelord and finally conquer the Earth kingdom but then his son died. This is probably the saddest episode in the series.

Bethany, when you first started, did you ever think you'd be rooting for Zuko to be happy? It seems like you've really grown to like him as a character (valid). Burningarm below already laid it out, but yes, Iroh's tale is the saddest part of the show (I'd argue) because of even both in the show and out of it. I'm not gonna link it (because I don't know how y'all feel regarding links, but because of a reference to this episode, I highly recommend checking out Thomas Sanders's Youtube Short "The Five Tiers of Pain." It's...very accurate.

Dammit, I told myself I wouldn't cry when Iroh sang Leaves From the Vine T_T

Some details about Iroh's story: Mako's a well known VA and was Iroh's original voice actor who sadly lost his life to Cancer during the production of Avatar. The picture of Iroh's son is supposedly a drawing of Mako at a younger age. During his tale Iroh helped and consoled others who became older each time as would a father help a son over their life.

I cannot wait for you guys to see the season finale!
