Yes one of my favorite episodes so nostalgic to when Goku taught Gohan to become a super saiyan for the first time. <3

2024-09-21 17:09:57 +0000 UTCDragon Ball is big enough of a property for a weekly production schedule to be more profitable for Toei. I've also heard that Japan's TV stations contract out time slots, so there's no guarantee that DBS would be able to keep the same time slot between seasons (thus potentially losing viewership). This is something that One Piece has also been dealing with under Toei's production. It's a shake because it leads to more filler and lower quality animation. If you guys ever end up checking out a seasonally produced anime like Jujutsu Kaisen, Mob Psycho, Attack on Titan, etc. I think you'll see just how big a seasonal production schedule can go. To Toei's credit though, they seem to have a better handle on One Piece lately. They've been skipping putting out a new episode after every 8 weeks or so. Has led to the animation looking phenomenal more frequently.

2024-09-15 01:56:13 +0000 UTCInteresting… Before watching Super, I was as to why it seemed like the androids had grown stronger and/or was picked or something for the ToP because I was under the impression they couldn’t grow more powerful based off 18 in the Buu Saga,and really, the Androids in Trunks’ timeline. It still kind of gives me an interesting feeling. I guess they were just playing around too much to train. Kind of like a Frieza (or Gohan?). Makes me wonder how strong 16 could’ve become unless the biological aspect has to do with the continuous growth. There’s also Gero himself. He could’ve become a 17. That man is actually something else. He created beings on the level of Gods. DB scientists…

2024-09-15 01:39:59 +0000 UTCKrillin’s a year older than Goku (birth-wise). But technically, Goku’s spent like 4 years in the chamber, so he’s closer to older gang’s age (awareness-wise). Then you have to account for the fact that he’s been dead for 8 years in total, so he’s practically back to where he would be (body-wise).

2024-09-12 23:47:19 +0000 UTCSometimes you forget that Gohan was more powerful than his dad in Z in both the Cell saga where he was the first to go Super Saiyan 2 at just 11, and the Buu saga when he got his ultimate form. But in super he's been outta commission for too long and is once again the underdog haha

2024-09-12 20:31:48 +0000 UTCI dont take this fight as a total loss for Gohan, the fact that he can match SSB Goku with little training is an amazing achievement for him. Goku having to use Kaioken on top of SSB to overpower Gohan just shows how powerful Gohan has become.

2024-09-12 19:31:19 +0000 UTC25:24 You're probably thinking about Universe 2's Supreme Kai. Honestly his dialogue during that meeting isn't really representative of what U2's gimmick is. Most likely a result of Toriyama's manuscript not giving much detail for each Kai's personality/dialogue, leaving Toei's writers to make do with most of it.

2024-09-12 19:10:07 +0000 UTCI remember this episode’s ending being cause for debate on whether Gohan or 17 was the strongest U7 fighter after Goku and Vegeta. 17 was said to be holding back against SSB Goku, while Gohan pushed Goku to SSB Kaioken but barely stood a chance after. Too many unknowns to say for sure imo (how much was 17 holding back, what level of Kaioken).

Can’t think of any other good reason in retrospect. Perhaps Toei hadn’t been given the finished designs at the time?
