If you want to watch a great Street Fighter movie. You definitely need to watch/react to Street Fighter Assassin’s Fist and be sure you watch the full movie cut of it since it used to be a series before they created a movie version of it. So yeah you can buy the Blu Ray copy exclusively on Crunchyroll and once you see the movie you’ll love it a lot and be super impressed!

Yeah that's why Reptile is so cool because of him being a secret in original Mortal Kombat 🤩

Yeah, in terms of ridiculousness, SF isn’t on the same level as like Tekken, but it’s still entertaining. It might be formulaic, but they make it work most of the time. The characters are still cool, the powers kick ass, and the moments between characters are memorable. As for your inquiries about Akuma. Others have already stated, and Clement mentioned this before as well, that Akuma was mainly just a secret boss in the games. You had to do specific requirements to fight him like get x amount of perfects, x amount of super finishers, or combination of both. And if you lost to him, you had to do them all over again. So the little information players had at the time and how strong he was just made big deal among fighting game fans. That’s something I miss from fighting games. Unlocking characters through specific requirements. It felt fun trying to get all the characters that way. Out of all the characters I like out of this franchise, Ken still takes my heart because he was my first pick when I first played Street Fighter 2 on the SNES. And his flaming kicks and punches landed even further into my heart. ❤️🔥

Oh and fun fact Ryu is voiced by the same guy who voices Gohan (Kyle Herbert), Rashid is voice by Whis voice actor (Ian Sinclair), and (in Street Fighter 5 specifically) Akuma is voiced by Richard Epcar, the voice actor for Raiden from MK. One voice actor to also note for you guys is Liam O’Brien who voices Gill in Street Fighter 5. You might know him as Illidan, Asura, and Gaara. Man this game is stacked with famous voice actors.

You guys are right about Akuma being rather chill for a villain. More of a antagonist rather than a villain. Fun fact, Akuma sells fruit as a living. There’s an image of him selling fruit to a little kid. He won’t go out of his way to hurt others or do malicious acts. He just want to be the strongest and have enjoyable matches, though his methods are his flaw. Glad to see my boy Cody being mayor, hopefully there’s more to this story in future installments. But still, will miss him in his prison and cuffs outfit.

So here is a little sad fact about Juni, the Doll staying with Cammy, in the comics, Bison sent her on one final mission to complete her brainwashing when the Dolls were in the final stages of the brainwashing program, Bison sent Juni back home to meet her family and kill them as a loyalty test which, unfortunately, she does flawlessly, as far as I know at least from the comics, I don't think she remembers doing this or if Cammy is keeping it from her as it would probably devastate her mind, as far as I know the games and comics are separate continuities, The comics series draws not only on the established Street Fighter canon but also occasionally addresses various continuity retcons and even draws from fanon and non-official sources as well.

One thing I think makes Akuma such a beloved character is the fact that he is like a realistic 'Dark Ryu' without being... well... 'Evil Ryu'... it's a similar feeling I think Juri Han has because of her being a 'Dark Chun Li'.

44:42 Perhaps an older viewer who was alive when arcades were still around could explain the appeal better, but I think you guys mostly hit the nail on the head with Akuma. He was such a legend because you had have met certain requirements before fighting M. Bison in Super Street Fighter 2 Turbo to even see him. I imagine that your only way of knowing about him would be either first hand experience or word of mouth. Can't really create mysteries or legends like that in games now with the advent of the Internet. Games don't even have to come out now to have everything spoiled about them. A good chunk of major AAA releases usually get dumped online at least one week before the release date.
