Earth benders have to be connected to what they are bending, since most battling in avatar is long-mid range only bloodbending from water benders would ever be useful, there would also be no ethical way to learn how to destroy a persons bones and would require a toph level bender to figure out. With fire bending for precise bending the heat comes from their bodies, that can manipulate other heat but with a resisting force or spirit it's most likely impossible. Avatar deals with spirits and souls as well and humans have a weaker version of bending then some animals in the series

At some pt, u just go w/ the plot. Bloodbending is way too OP... but plz remember Katara can only do it during a full moon. A lot of reactors will scream at the screen WHY WON'T KATARA JUST BLOOD BEND, forgetting that she can't in 99% of situations...

2024-10-15 16:32:11 +0000 UTCSince Toph is specifically manipulating the imperfections in the metal, bending blood is probably not possible, but she could probably figure out a way to mess with bones. Another interesting one to think about is in Firebending. Highly skilled firebenders have been shown to be able to manipulate heat sources themselves, the best example being Sozin rapidly removing the heat from a lava pool to dry it up, which would also be very effective at shytting down a human body instantly.

2024-10-15 03:11:37 +0000 UTCWhile the idea of Toph blood bending might make sense, the amount of iron in the body is insignificant. It's not enough to do much, except maybe harm the organs. Also, it isn't that she can bend metal. She actually bends the IMPERFECTIONS of iron, meaning the earth within the iron. Technically she could more easily become a bone bender due to the high mineral content in bones, easily shattering people's insides into shards of bones piercing their organs, killing them from the inside. Alternatively, for Aang, he could suck the air right out of people's lungs, or even bend air inside their bodies to cause their lungs to rupture, but you know, this is a kid's show, so that won't happen. Also it would take away from the thrill. If we applied realism, the fire benders wouldn't stand a chance against the other nations.

2024-10-14 23:43:25 +0000 UTCBecause the Air Nomads were wiped out, the Fire Nation believed the Avatar had reincarnated into the Water Tribe. North being better fortified, they easily targeted the South and imprisoned their water benders preventing reincarnation. Eventually they began to focus heavily on the Earth Kingdom. There's more details but they spoil an episode later on this season ð

2024-10-14 22:22:42 +0000 UTCYou are correct. This was released in mid to late October as a Halloween episode, even though it didn't need to be. Such a great episode with a great new exploration of concept. Shout out to Tress MacNeil, classic voice actor, for her role as Hama here. So well done. So, with the variations you've been introduced to: sand, blood, lightning, metal, etc. Which bending do you think you'd want at this point?

2024-10-14 18:43:00 +0000 UTCThe amount of iron in the blood is too small, it makes more sense for Toph to bend bones. They are about 70% mineral.
