Here's a good all cutscene video for the beginning of star rail if you guys are interested. This youtuber has a full playlist of all cutscenes for star rail https://youtu.be/hRTlGM-GdZI?si=fsADqW6vtlku6PrC

2024-10-23 23:39:10 +0000 UTCYeah we might look at story recap videos to catch up and then see about doing cutscenes. But right now our Genshin videos have been in the 40+ to hour long as we try to get a quicker pace going. 😅

2024-10-13 10:23:39 +0000 UTCAlso, if you are interested in the factions of the world, I recommend this video, it’s crucial to understand the world without reading through in game items and documents: https://youtu.be/-3xWVrCxoSY?si=h_hNKVxJJCPTbM4I

2024-10-13 07:42:05 +0000 UTCJust gonna mention this to Beth right now so she doesn’t get the wrong idea and gets disappointed later, if you actually do plan a HSR journey. Pom Pom is basically the mascot equivalent of Paimon. But the thing is, Paimon is supposed to be the voice of the Traveler. And her repeating stuff you already learned got on some people’s nerves. Some just hate her voice in general. So they made sure Pom Pom was only involved when it comes to the train. And considering you’re mostly visiting various celestial areas, outside of the train, Pom Pom doesn’t really get as much of a spotlight as Paimon does. He doesn’t even get as many animations that Paimon does, like her little butt wiggle you both like so much. The game focuses more on the characters themselves and the worlds you visit. Which there will be science stuff thrown around. Not very heavy in the beginning, but I definitely don’t see you two easily absorbing all that will come much later.

2024-10-13 04:37:15 +0000 UTCIt’s a good introduction video. Though I’ve said this before in one of your YouTube videos. Star Rail quests I would say are more densely packed than Genshin ones. Part of it I believe is because it’s a turn based RPG instead of an open world exploration game like Genshin. So they have more incentive to make the stories longer and packed with more substance. So if you do start a Star Rail journey, you might need to figure out how you’re gonna split the videos, if it’s gonna be 40+ minute intervals or hourly intervals. I can try to help with making a playlist for that as well since I do play the game, but I’m not that invested as I am in Genshin. Because much like you two, I’m more of a Fantasy person.

2024-10-12 20:32:21 +0000 UTCI think the world of Honkai Star Rail starts off as a sci-fi adventure because of the game the universe falls under. Every single Hoyoverse game aside from Zenless Zone Zero falls under the universe of Honkai Impact solely from that imaginary tree that was mentioned (we don't know about Zenless yet). So they throw a bunch of science terms at you in the beginning, but instead of exploring regions like you do in Genshin, you explore entire planets. You take in their cultures, customs, and the world itself all the same, it's just on a wider scale. It only gets really sci-fi heavy from my experience when you're in or revisiting the space station because like the other comment said, different forms of magical abilities exist on different planets. This video touches on it a little, but if you'd like to know more about why Welt is even in Star Rail in the first place this video by Homulabs explains it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uh8ObEwWJtE All in all this was a pretty good video, I'm not familiar with Ashikai but they did a pretty good job introducing the story. There's just so much lore cause these story arcs can go for hours

2024-10-12 20:10:48 +0000 UTCActually, if you guys prefer fantasy over sci-fi, you will enjoy star rail as well. Think star rail more like a fantasy world, after thousands for years of technology development, where a world that magic and technology coexist. There are plenty people who use magical like abilities in this setting, and the world is filled with god like entity named aeons like the videos explained, much like DND. So, it might be fun to look into a world where fantasy and sci-fi coexist and enhance the story.
