2024-10-20 21:28:47 +0000 UTCThat's an entirely subjective take, one which overlooks the fact that Brotherhood is the more authentic adaptation of the manga (due to the manga being complete by the time it was created), making it objectively the better narrative as far as maintaining the vision of the story's author. While the original is more mature and nostalgic, as someone who started with Brotherhood first, I can say that the original has a lot of plot holes, a less satisfying ending, and much slower pacing. Given the focus on action-packed and humor-based shows, Brotherhood is more consistent with what Definitely Not Definitive audiences are accustomed to. Even if you personally consider the original better, the audience doesn't care. One will objectively receive more attention, and you have to learn to accept that.

FMAB is an absolutely phenomenonal anime & it will get dark FAST. Yu Yu Hakusho is a 90s classic that is filled with emotional messages between teenage boys kicking ass. Cowboy Bebop is another 90s classic that everyone should watch at least once.

I say death note or full metal alchemist. Plus the longer the show, the likely chance for them to forget whats happens early in said show.

If you want to watch Full Metal Alchemist please watch the original 2003 anime first and then watch Brotherhood. It's a remake of the series that more closely follows the source material but they also skip a ton of important stuff in the first season to speedrun what wasn't covered in '03. Also the '03 anime is still really good entirely solid on its own.
