Thank God for Little 😅

There are some great puns this season, i like that one too. :)

Ugh, forgot, (or maybe blocked out?) the fact that Jaune was the one that had to kill Penny. And he's all alone right now. They need to find him ASAP 😱😢

Good point about Blake. It did seem like she got lost in the story after Adam and was basically just around to be a love interest for Yang. 🤗

Man, Lindsay's performance in this episode is just... incredible. Managing to show so much negative emotions from a character that used to be hopeful and energetic is an extremely impressive task. You can feel Ruby's despair in that voice. I do appreciate seeing Weiss being a lot more expressive, on a constant path of character growth that she's been on since Volume 1. It brings a new dynamic to her character that makes her a more active part of the team (not saying she wasn't before, but here she seems to take more importance, which I guess makes sense since we only have one narrative of team RWBY after several Volumes that had multiple narratives in each chapter). The idea that they are forced to follow the original story is interesting, because it means that they can't exactly bypass any important event and will be able to use their knowledge of what happens to decide what to do. Now the question will be, will they end up recreating the story without being able to change it, or will the story at one point diverge from the original plot because they'll have changed some events? Either way, it should make for an interesting Volume.

It’s a lot going through Ruby’s head right now. Based on her talk with Weiss, I think it goes beyond just the loss of Penny. The loss of Atlas, the fact that their plan would have gone off without a hitch if Neo hadn’t gotten her hands on the lamp, the people hurt during the evacuation: the sense of failure must be acute.

Did you see that kung fu panda 4 is now on Netflix?

I love Ruby's speech for Penny. It makes me feel like that was Ruby's eulogy for Penny and a way for her to pay tribute to a friend she didn't know very long but loved dearly and lost twice. Also I always laugh during Little's response to Blake when Blake said "act like we belong" and Little is like "I've always wanted to BE LONG, but for I'm still just small." Same Little, same. XD

Ruby's speech about Penny breaks my heart every time. Talking about her needing Jaune, he needs his friends too. He was the one who had to take Penny's life, there wasn't enough time for anything else. I can't wait for your reactions for this volume, it gets deep & dark both mentally & emotionally.

Little is great. So funny and innocent. Cracked up that they stole the item when Jinxy wasn't looking -- tit for tat, it was up for grabs! The green "doll" was actually a marionette without strings, I believe. So... Penny. Yes, we've seen where the weather/surroundings will reflect mood in the Ever After, esp with Ruby. This is the second time at least that it's rained when her mood dropped. Depression can sometimes leave one looking emotionless on the outside, so it is a litmus test for how Ruby feels inside. We haven't really seen Ruby like this before -- the challenge of Penny's loss and Atlas' ruin has shaken Ruby's worldview in a way she's never experienced, even during Beacon's fall. It will be a rough ride through this season, but I think it is one of the most meaningful arcs in the series once all is said and done. I'm impressed you both managed to get through her speech about Penny; I always cry now every time I watch it. It was so accurate, such a tribute, and you know Ruby meant every word of it. Interesting comment about Yang needing a fight to process her emotions, I hadn't quite thought of it that way, but I think you are right. Each person processes things differently, and Yang needs to rough things up. I like how Blake is providing more value this season, the last big arc she had was the Adam thread. All those books we saw her read in the past, the more contemplative side of her -- she's a moral compass of sorts and this season accentuates that. She seems intuitively aware of where people are and the impact of their behavior in the Ever After.

Pathetic Fallacy definitely seems to be a real thing in the Ever After. It rains both times so far that Ruby cries and the locals know it. They track the team by the localized raincloud. "Now it's raining on JUST us!." - Weiss "Over here! someone's sad!" - Royal Guard
