Good to know. It is interesting how certain customs and behaviors will play differently to different audiences. We really like both Ayaka and Keqing, just for us not being raised in the Asian work culture their behavior hit us a little differently but it is helpful to know what that is all rooted in which will give us a better understanding of the characters. Thanks for sharing this with us :)

Very interesting to have that context now about the characters and their interactions with the traveler vs. the development of actual romantic relationships. Thanks for letting us know!

Unsurprisingly, Ayaka’s demeanor is very similar to Keqing. Other people will explain it better, but they are representations of Asian work culture and etiquette. Especially since they are part of high status groups. There’s a big emphasis on not being a burden to anyone and to not be so casual unless it’s someone very close to you. Hence why these types of characters are always so serious and afraid of messing things up. Especially if it involves trying to make a friend for the first time.

Ayaka definitely shot up in the popularity polls when her story got released. The whole “famous person wanting normal things” is a tale as old as time for media. Especially for anime characters. And when you have a character that a lot of people can empathize with and have tons of fun with gameplay-wise, you’ve got a certified hit among the fandom. And Ken. Regarding your comment about if Ayaka is hitting on the Traveler. You’re gonna need to get used to those types of lines being used by a bunch of characters you’ll meet. The main selling point of Gacha are the characters themselves, and that means the devs will push them into liking the Traveler (AKA: the player) any way they want to urge other players to pull for them. She is not the first, and she certainly won’t be the last. And again, the devs won’t really push for romantic relationships in general, because then a huge chunk of their revenue goes away. Gacha players tend to not be the most sensible people.
