Right before his universe might end he relives spending time with his grandpa. Goku is seen as just immature but his character development from the o.g dragon ball is crazy. He grew to have more self control despite what he may be personally feeling then people realize. I don't think he's ever worked through the fact his biology of becoming a great ape is what killed his own family
