Especially in the movies, the dub used to add in music from iconic bands. Ofc a bit of the fanbase is torn when it comes to the original dub of DBZ cause of its use of rock and metal themes, but in my opinion those soundtracks kicked ass!

This was a good episode, Hit adapting to Dyspos speed and then overwhelming him with his improved time skip, this was one of many great fights featured in TOP.

2024-11-01 05:34:07 +0000 UTCThis episode is a real highlight of the tournament. It shows how even someone as Hit can be overwhelmed. If this was a random encounter then Hit would have won since Dyspo would have taken to long to deliver the final blow. Again, Hit is hindered on what he can do. He’s an assassin so he’s probably not used to combat that much, since assassins normally try to kill without being seen, like we saw with the mob boss in a earlier episode. He also can’t use his attacks to its fullest, since his fighting style is meant to kill. That’s to bad for Hit, would have cool to see how he could do at his fullest, killing the weaker contestants quickly and leaving the strongest for last.

In a video in YT (not usually reliable but this YouTuber is usually really good in research) it explains that Japan apparently uses the expression “speed to light” to just express something really fast. It doesn’t necessarily mean that his limit is light speed. Considering other feats showed in DBZ, if Dyspo really only is light speed, it would odd that someone like Hit, who can keep up with Goku, would struggle with Dyspo’s speed.

The Battle of Gods movie made it seem like Goku base was his God form, but now this retconned it and I'm so glad because this form is the best. The fire, the ki, it's just *chef's kiss* perfect. Plus as much as I love the SS designs, I love it more when the forms don't spike up Goku's hair.

2024-10-31 19:33:24 +0000 UTCYeah, I'm glad they sort of did, as it does mean I get to see the God form again. But I do wonder what other forms Goku would have gotten other than just Blue, as I read Super Saiyan Blue was going to be a permanent replacement for Super Saiyan.

2024-10-31 19:30:35 +0000 UTCYeah I'm kinda glad they dropped the whole "your body learned" from being in God form thing after BoG, because it's what lead to the whole base Cabba thing that everyone always talks about. The DBS writers are about as inconsistent as it can get, but I absolutely refuse to believe they intended to make base Cabba as strong as SSG, I think they just completely forgot about the BoG thing.

2024-10-31 19:11:18 +0000 UTC7:44 Toppo’s line is interesting because travel and combat speeds faster than light have been suggested to be in Dragon Ball as early as the Namek Saga (possibly even earlier depending on how you interpret Goku countering the Solar Flare in OGDB). Then again, Dragon Ball isn’t always the most consistent regarding power scaling, even before Super.

Since Beerus says that Goku's base form is now as strong as God, but now Goku can now go God when he's already God in his base form. I'll admit I was happy when I saw the return of the God form since it's my favorite form just above a future one.

I’m more used to him sounding like sub’s version of Broly (or Wapol from One Piece) since they’re all voiced by Bin Shimada, but I also like how Christopher Dontrell Piper captures Dyspo’s attitude.

2024-10-31 19:01:13 +0000 UTCThe strategy of switching between SS God and Blue is something that the manga had used since the U6 vs U7 arc. It’s what Goku had used against Hit instead of combining Blue with Kaioken, and Vegeta also used this strat to keep pace with Goku Black’s SS Rosé. I prefer the way the manga handles the Saiyan god ki transformations because it: o 1) Doesn’t make SS God feel like an afterthought in retrospect. The intro of Blue came feels like it showed up way too early imo when you look back at how things have been written. o 2) Doesn’t take the impact out of SS Blue when it’s time to use it. Say what you will about the semantics of Goku’s ki control in Blue, but imo the amount of times Toei has used it took any lasting impact the form had as Goku’s "greatest" form.
