2024-11-11 06:12:33 +0000 UTCThe little story you get at around 11:00 is in reference to OG dragon ball. Pilaf and his gang play a big role in that series. I wish they used the regular king kai introduction here. Its so much funnier with the Monkey Lol You guys definetly improved since the last episode with the map exploring look forward to the next one. King kai plays more of a role in the early Saiyan saga(what your playing in right now) and the Frieza/namek saga. which youll get to next, Abridged probably ends up cutting alot of his comments and training moments out. in the later parts of z and in super he gets overshadowed by the supreme kais and those above them

He kept cutting off slices of the Ferocisaurus' tail (the large brown dino that chased Gohan before) with his sword. It had proven that he'd grown tougher, especially when Gohan kindly told the dino that he wouldn't have a tail left if he kept coming after him.

2024-11-10 23:55:33 +0000 UTCThere’s one big cut I remember later on that’s pretty egregious and a few changes I remember not being a fan of. I’m kinda mixed on Kakarot as a whole, on one hand it’s probably the best modern way to experience DBZ- Raditz to Buu in video game form but on the other, there’s a lot of weird inconsistencies and odd choices on what gets prioritized over other stuff. Not to mention the English script is clearly just a one-to-one translation of the Japanese lines, instead of them actually being localized well like with Kai. Still better than the original Funi dub but still. One thing I can appreciate about Sparking Zero is that a lot of the lines in the game are ripped right out of Kai.

2024-11-10 23:33:53 +0000 UTCIt’s been a while since I played this game but they seriously cut the whole 10x gravity thing on King Kai’s world? Seems odd considering gravity training becomes like, the gold standard for training and that’s where it started.

I was exploring the shit outta this area when I first got the game, and probably spent hours getting medals instead of the actual storytelling. Next part is when things pick up for sure

In OGDB, Kami was supposed to be a god (Kami is the Japanese word for "God" after all) before Toriyama started expanding the DB cosmology through the Kais, Destroyers, Zeno, etc. Thus, he has a good deal of supernatural abilities you two aren't very familiar with yet.

2024-11-10 22:47:38 +0000 UTCJust finished my own run of the Saiyan Saga last week. Gotta say, I definitely think that starting with Kakarot was the better choice now. Even in hard mode this game's still on the much easier side of the many action rpgs I've played. Still enjoying myself tho.

2024-11-10 22:37:46 +0000 UTCIn case it wasn't obvious, a lot of these intermission moments (i.e. Yajirobe meeting Gohan and Piccolo sparring with the Z Warriors) weren't a part of the original story. The devs took some creative liberties to put in story beats that "could've" happened to help teach players the mechanics.
