It's sad when I think about the fact that so many side quests are looked over because they don't have voice acting in them, because there are quite a few really memorable quests that were really fun to play through. P.S. on a side note I think I might have mentioned this before on a yt video, but there is this compilation of fan made genshin impact videos that the company compiles into a collection called hoyofairs the 2021 isn't the best quality but hoyoverse started funding creators afterwards so quality shoots up quite a bit. Also if you do end up wanting to watch them I wouldn't watch all of them right away they usually include stuff about future quests/regions so you might end up spoiling yourselves on something.

On your point 2: Well, for some people it may certainly seem as if she is drunk on power. I mean she showed off her power quite a bit during that cutscene, even though she was calm and precise. In my opinion she also looked like she was overflowing with confidence that she was unstoppable, that's why she was a little unprepared and surprised when Thoma acted.

Since it's not explained in the Archon quest, but in side quests that you can do in Inazume, I'll say it here : of the 6 islands that compose Inazuma, 2 of them are plagued by constant lightning that are the direct consequences of the Raiden Shogun using her power to defeat giant beasts centuries ago. There are side quests that allow you to stop them on both islands. Incidentally, both of the slain beasts were not malicious, but posed a threat simply by their presence which had an effect on the environment. One of them was a giant Thunder Bird, that lived in-between 2 islands but destroyed one of them (and then cursed its inhabitants to relive the same day over and over again) because the inhabitants, in an attempt to please him, sacrificed a young child that the bird was fond of. The second one was a giant serpent, and you can visit its skeletton. It had led to the surface the inhabitants of Enkanomiya, an underground place sealed below the island of Sangonomiya after it was invaded and destroyed by monsters. A side quest allows you to unseal Enkanomiya (with the objective to retrieve a ceremonial item that will allow Kokomi to seal it again for a long time, because the seal is weakening), and so unlocks a sort of separate map with a bit of side content and some lore about the old world (such as the fact that, since Enkanomiya was underground and therefore didn't have any sunlight, people managed to create a building that acts as a sort of artificial sun, and it brings a new puzzle mechanic of having to switch between day and night to solve some puzzles in that area). Finally, on a side-note, I can't imagine how long it took whoever made the video to grind enough to make their characters so powerful, because doing that much damage during the one-on-one fights was impressive (even though the fights were easy for me, it still took more time to win them)

Now you see why everyone was so hyped for the Raiden Shogun. She’s an Archon that leaves a deep impression. Especially if you are a player of other Hoyoverse games, because she’s pretty much an alternate universe counterpart of one of the main characters of “Honkai Impact 3rd”. Meaning the company is going to make sure she is powerful and has enough screen time for fans of the company to enjoy. There are 2 things I want to say to Beth specifically. 1. Your comment on how Paimon should have been trying to untie Thoma while the Traveler was battling, is unfortunately another reason some fans despise Paimon. That they don’t physically do anything. It got so bad that some people wished that scene of the Raiden Shogun pointing her blade near Paimon was instead a scene of chopping Paimon’s head off. Again, some of the fans in this community can be very rabid about their interests & preferences. 2. I disagree about your evaluation that the Raiden Shogun is “drunk on power”. Those types of characters usually show more emotion and are more forthright with their rule. But she has been nothing but calm and precise in every action that she has taken. “nothing but calm and precise” should be emphasized. Because for all the screen time we’ve gotten, she has shown no change in mannerisms or facial expression. Last thing I want to address is the Honor battle done before the war began. It wasn’t really a fight to see which side has to leave. It’s a war. You don’t take that many people whose only purpose is to fight, and not let them do that. The honor battle was more of a prelude and a morale booster for whoever won. Because believe it or not, morale can affect a soldiers performance. Once the setup was done, the actual war could begin. I wanted to clarify on this, because you saw Kujou Sara as being dishonorable doing this, when she is actually one of the most honorable characters in Genshin.

35:20 It’s funny you mention the lightning that could kill you at any moment, because the lightning in game can actually hurt you, and on this particular island it is plagued by perpetual storms, which you can actually put a stop to in a side-quest. But there are funny moments where you could be sitting in a cutscene and the lightning just comes down and sends you flying right out of the cutscene, which is a bit immersion breaking 😂
