Thanks 🐶 😊

Bethany and Ken

Such a great film. Cheesy moments for sure in it, but Val Kilmer crushes it as Doc Holliday 🤠

Also a good line that some reactors I’ve seen miss cause there’s a lot going on in that scene is when Zorin says “Why didn’t anyone do proper reconnaissance?” Which is ironic because if you remember from episode 5, that’s precisely what she was sent to Hellsing Manor to do 🤣

Patrick Larson

This is, in my opinion, the second best episode in the series. It develops Seras as a character, and even a bit of Pip, though it’s not showed in the abridged version. In the original episode, the outro for this episode shows photos of Pip’s life, as a baby to his death, accompanied with a fantastic song. You guys should check it out in your own time, it’s really good.

I don't think you can say that when most of the TV series isn't even canon. It's like saying "I loved the character development in this filler".

:O puppy is adorable

Great comparison with Tombstone! Need to go back and watch that film.

Maybe it's because I saw the anime before the Abridge, but I love the Hellsing supporting cast, and villains, and I love how Team4Star improved upon Seras Victoria even more. And I say this as someone that considers Alucard as my favorite anime character, and vampire.

I know there was a lot of violence, death, and traumatic moments going on this episode. But I was too distracted by that adorable little puppers!

Pyrodragon3993

Which coincidently is the actual context of that weird “erotic” scene right before the trauma scene; it’s Integra letting Seras feed off her so that she doesn’t wither away like a starving vampire who doesn’t drink any blood would

Patrick Larson

Honestly for as much as I like Hellsing Ultimate and the abridged series, they did a lot better job of portraying and developing Seras in the original Hellsing TV series. She is kind of cutesy and fan service-y in Ultimate, but in the original series you really get a good idea of her character. She is meant to be the viewer or a bystander. She is abruptly ripped (by her choice, because she doesn’t want to die) from a human mortal life to being an immortal bloodlusting vampire and she doesn’t want to accept that she’s not human anymore all the while she’s also trying to gain the respect of the rest of the Hellsing organization soldiers and leaders like she would have if she was a junior member of the police force.

Patrick Larson

Nope. It happened in the actual show as well. Alucard is stuck on the boat for several episodes. The actual show as with the abridged version came out once a year so the wait for Alucard took literal years. They even call it out this episode when one of the Flying Geese comments on "them sucking and no one liking them".

Skyler Van

It's prudent to keep in mind for this particular series that Alucard being offscreen for so long is genuinely part of the plan. The Nazi forces set up Rip Van Winkle as a decoy for the sole purpose of drawing Alucard out into the middle of the ocean and stranding him there. The first few episodes show us why, with how unkillable and powerful he is. It makes sense to, if you can, remove the enemy's Superman from the board.
