2023-06-26 23:53:15 +0000 UTCIt is rough seeing these characters struggle so much with the aftermath of what they lost, but I think this is one of the better aspects of the show. It makes them feel less like your typical shounen protagonists when they fall down, when they're scared, when they're struggling and filled with doubt. Too few shows are willing to let their characters deal with trauma; to be fallible; to be... people.

2023-06-26 00:32:34 +0000 UTCThere's a joke I was reminded about from watching your reaction where Sun says "It will be a regular journey to the East" which is a little play on Sun's character that he is based on (Goku as well) in Sun Wukong from "Journey to the West." Both Goku and Sun have different aspects of their personalities and some of the their powers that are directly from the character in Journey to the West.

2023-06-25 01:17:06 +0000 UTCThis episode was definitely heartbreaking for Yang, but it's like what Yang's dad said at the end of volume 3. That Yang is too strong to let something like this stop her. Also Sun 100% deserved to get slapped, and the sea dragon fight was pretty awesome!
