Oh he definitely was better than Anakin during the Clone Wars but it's mainly due to experience and his intelligence since Anakin fights aggressively and tunnel visions, especially during their spars. Even though Anakin is powerful he was still young and had never reached the peak of his growth nor got the chance to since he turned to the Dark Side and lost even MORE limbs which limited his movement and his connection to the force even more. Anakin still had a lot of room to grow and one could've wondered potentially how powerful he would've gotten if he was still a Jedi. Pretty sure Anakin was still in his early 20's when he turned. But yeah historically Obi-Wan never did as well or lasted as long as Anakin when fighting Dooku LOL.

2023-07-01 23:34:51 +0000 UTCAlthough Obi-Wan is a more seasoned fighter than Anakin; Obi-Wan was considered average by comparison to prodigies like Mace Windu, Anakin, and Dooku. Obi-Wan's connection to the force was also nothing to write home about compared to other prominent members in the Jedi Council. This is most likely the reason why he sent Anakin instead to challenge Dooku. Obi-Wan was more well known for his technique, hard work, intelligence, his mind, and tactics/strategies both in and outside of combat. It's what allowed him to climb up the ranks with the Order. In stark contrast to the explosive growth of Anakin, Obi-Wan grew slowly especially with his connection with the Force and with mastering his techniques. Obi-Wan was definitely not gifted and probably among the LEAST gifted within the Order. Which is why it's impressive how powerful he got as a Jedi in later years due to sheer effort/studying and how he got a seat within the Jedi Council.
