Unfortunately, Kai is neither better nor worse than the original dub. Some lines are better. Some are worse. It's the same but different.

2023-07-26 01:56:25 +0000 UTCI would definitely recommend watching the original Dragon Ball before Super :). I'd have recommended watching it before Z too but ...well c'est la vie. Though if you do... well keep in mind that it's from the 80s and dubbed in the 90s. It was ... a different time if you know what I mean.

2023-07-12 16:44:20 +0000 UTCYes, I've never watched all of Kai so I'm experiencing it through their eyes and although I agree that the pacing is much better the lines are not as great or impactful. That and the music is really poorly used and boring compared to the iconic score from the original dub, which is my biggest letdown. Still fun though!

2023-07-12 06:03:00 +0000 UTCAlthough I love Kais pacing, in the original Z when Supreme Kai questions Vegetas reasoning for doing what he did he calls it meaningless, and vegeta responds with one of the hardest lines ever, he says “meaningless? What do you know of meaningless? Spend most of your life ruled by another, (frieza) watch your race dwindle to a handful, and then tell me, what has more meaning than your own strength” that and when Vegeta blows up the crowd for the 2nd time, Goku asks him “do you let urself be a slave?” And Vegeta again responds with “is it slavery when you get what you want?” original Z majin vegeta just had the best lines 😮💨 🔥
