The Vanguard forbid guardians looking into their past in order to prevent any conflict of interest. Unlike most guardians however, Ana Bray was revived with an old ID card on her body telling her exactly who she was (which may or may not have been placed there deliberately). Earlier in the Destiny story, during the Battle of Twilight Gap, Ana faked her death, that’s why Zavala is quite annoyed when he first sees her. She faked her death all to go looking for Rasputin and investigating her past, both things she was told not to do. As Ken said, Ana is very naive or perhaps a little too optimistic. The Brays were probably one of the most influential and powerful families in the Golden Age, making incredible scientific discoveries and creations including the Exos (robot people) and Rasputin. The Bray family are really interesting, especially Ana, Elsie and Colvis (the patriarch). Anastasia Bray was responsible for teaching Rasputin about humanity, Language, Art, History, Literature, etc. which led to an incredibly strong connection between her and the AI. This is why she is so trusting, even though he’s made mistakes, his interests do align with protecting Humanity, as was his core function. Unfortunately, when the Darkness came for humanity and the Traveler during the collapse, Rasputin got his arse handed to him and went into a type of hibernation with the hope of eventually awakening and helping the humans who survived the collapse. Bethany was 100% correct, Akka, Eir, Ur, Yul and Xol were the 5 worm gods who corrupted the Hive gods, Oryx, Savathun, and Xivu Arath! Keep an eye out for more of Savathun as she becomes more and more relevant in the story as it progresses. Forsaken next!!! Which is widely considered on of the best stories ever told in Destiny! Can’t wait to see your reaction to it!
