2023-08-05 20:05:07 +0000 UTCIt's been a hot minute since I played TF2 at length, but I don't think there's any sort of drunken mechanic. I think that segment is more of a nod to his load out: The Chargin Targe and a melee weapon (bottle, in this case). The Chargin Targe is a shield that replaces the Sticky Launcher, and in addition to giving damage resistance, allows you to run at someone in a straight line and do a critical melee hit. At it's release, the Chargin Targe and the Eyelander sword combination were an absolute menace because it was high damage and low skill, and even through the nerfs, the Chargin Targe is still an easy if not unchallenging way to get kills on inattentive players. So that whole segment could be seen as commentary on slipping back into old, reliable habits that don't require too much thought and/or skills (like drinking!) That or I'm totally just putting my own thoughts into the universe. 🤔
