I'm pretty sure you missed the part about the organisers giving Helck slippery/glossy cards. They also did immediately tell you that fratricide is the killing of one's brother. There are also multiple demon lords as you would've noticed from the start of the episode and the exposition at the end.

2023-07-30 12:20:21 +0000 UTCNah, these demons are less racist than 99% of the humans we have in our world. They didn't even stop to consider Helck as an enemy. My favourite part of the episode is the constant juxtaposition of comedy with an ominous tone. While Helck was playfully playing that helmet game, we have the exposition about his background going on. Then just as it was revealed that Helck is a criminal, we see him smash the helmet into pieces with a huge smile.
