I can imagine Vegeta yelling from the other world "Thanks for specifying 'Except the bad people', Yamcha! You Asshole!" Lol!

2023-09-19 20:44:41 +0000 UTCSo agree there is a new crowd of people coming into to dragon ball z from abridged not knowing the long deep stories of these characters. It's just become a casual thing imo. Not counting they're reacting to a season of dbz that has always been mixed for even us die hard fans.

2023-09-03 15:50:41 +0000 UTC“Let me help awaken Buu by fighting Vegeta and potentially put the universe at stake. Ehehehe…” The Saiyans tend to make some ridiculous decisions sometimes. Even the more rational ones like Alternate, Alternate Future Trunks. It keeps the series entertaining, though.

2023-08-13 16:56:34 +0000 UTCspoiler obviously It's still make sense though. There's no guarantee he could defeat Buu within the time limit. He picked the safer option by teaching the kids how to fuse rather than going all out and spending all of his remaining time fighting Buu.

2023-08-12 02:50:36 +0000 UTCOk... 1) Assuming you have not read the Potter Books, it is against Wizard law to alter events in the past. Hermione had to have special permission from the Ministry of Magic to use the time-turner for classes. It was even mentioned in the movie that terrible things happen to wizards that mess with time. 2) Goku's flaws are real, but they are heavily overemphasized in Abridged. Yes, they have been joked about by the community for many, many years but most DBZ fans can agree that Goku does care for his family and is actually a very savvy fighter. He is just not book-smart and can sometimes be naive and too optimistic. With that being said... 3) It was a smart idea to not use the Dragon Balls. It didn't matter what kind of wish Bulma made. Had it actually brought Gohan back to life (which we all know he never died), Goku would have immediately sensed Gohan's energy. From Goku's experience damage always occurs when fighting an enemy. Buu is still at large and no one can challenge him at this point. It can take a week for Goten and Trunks to master fusion before facing Buu. So more people will die and Earth will get severely damaged in any future fights. Had the other wishes been made...no dragon balls for a year. Four months is not so bad. Even if they were to wish Gohan and Vegeta back, Goku already acknowledged that neither of them could beat Buu. Again, that would waste wishes that could be used in the aftermath. Could Goku also rely on Gohan and Vegeta to learn fusion? Gohan, maybe. Vegeta? After what he just did? I don't think Goku really trusts Vegeta's ability to cooperate even after sacrificing himself. Besides, someone already mentioned that Vegeta could not be brought back to life anyway. He was already once revived by Earth's dragon balls when he died on Namek. Overall, I know your only knowledge is from Abridged. I get it. Even most people who have actually watched DBZ still underestimate Goku as a character. So many people also miss out on watching OG Dragon Ball. This is the only Goku character rant I will make for now. I cannot vouch for future events. However, hopefully, you both eventually may consider watching the actual series in its entirety. TeamFourStar really set the bar with their parody, but nothing beats Toriyama's uncensored and raw humor in Dragon Ball.

2023-08-12 02:37:38 +0000 UTCIt gets even better. Apparently, multiple villains from the franchise (most notably Buu) have their designs based on Toriyama's editors. Case and point, Toriyama's editor during the world martial arts tournament was a bit on the pudgier side with a jolly, affable nature. Toriyama is notorious for not being good at planning, but the amount of stuff he improvises and the source of this inspiration has always been both comedic and genius :)

2023-08-11 23:25:39 +0000 UTCI just rewatched the episode where they attempt to resurrect Goku at the end of the Cell saga. Seems you're right. I guess I remembered that scene incorrectly.

2023-08-11 21:45:41 +0000 UTCExactly. Buu saga goku actually quite smart and have a common sense. DBS Goku on the other hand...
Hiruman
2023-08-11 20:16:58 +0000 UTCEarth Dragon Ball unable to revive people who already died once. Goku died twice, first when he fought Raditz, then when he sacrifice himself in Cell Saga. Same with Vegeta, killed on Namek and blew himself up.

2023-08-11 20:13:00 +0000 UTCBefore, Shenron was only able to grant the user one wish per summoning, but after Dende re-creates the Earth Dragon Balls, Dende upgrades Shenron to grant the user a maximum of three wishes (two if multiple people are revived with one of the wishes) and because Dende used Kami's model (the Sheron sculpture you see in DBZ Kai episode 86) to recreate the Dragonballs the limitations that were with Kami's version was carried over to Dende's version which is why Dende's version cannot revive Goku again because they used that wish already in the sayian arc whereas if Dende made a completely new set of dragon balls from scratch (which would take 100 days as it was said in DBZ Kai episode 86) then probably there wouldn't be these previous limitations. I hope this answered your question @Gus
Zaid
2023-08-11 15:51:16 +0000 UTCDidn't Dende fix that resurrection limit when he recreated the dragonballs?
Gus
2023-08-11 14:59:12 +0000 UTCYeah, I have no idea why they didn't wish Goahn or Vegeta back. Any explanation I've ever read never made sense to me. As far as I can tell, it's a huge plot hole. Not to mention that Goku could have also wished himself back 🤷♂️
Gus
2023-08-11 14:58:09 +0000 UTCIt Is not stated what is the max lives per wish as it is left vague in episode 86(DBZ Kai,Cell saga) where dende upgrades the Earth Dragonballs so it can grant three wishes however if you revive many people it would count as two wishes so mostly likely if they were to try to revive the people Buu killed it will take two wishes like it was done in the Cell saga when reviving everyone Cell killed as they were only able to use two wishes at the end of Cell saga
Zaid
2023-08-11 10:28:14 +0000 UTCNot true, you put the magic balls together and out pops the magic dragon. You ask for anything besides the best wish and you win. Consistant. .... also my head canon is he was in a coma. Dbz constantly can't feel energy until they can, (goku proved it here). Goku, piccolo and somehow vegeta sense the best and so when they can't feel gohans life force they are right to worry. Goku can sense energy even when they are in different solar systems (little green kidnapping) and teleporting to king kai (heaven?). But again. Dbz is consistently inconsistent but atleast it tries harder after the saipan saga

2023-08-11 07:05:37 +0000 UTCMost definitely. Fat Kirby is the most goofy dragon ball Villain. I think he is also the most terrifying besides first form cell.
N8Sp8s
2023-08-11 07:03:26 +0000 UTCUnpopular opinion but the majin kirby is my favorite villain. I'd say every villain goku has fought until Vegetas death have been people with incredible egos and arrogance, possibly a way to change their mind. Buu is different, he is more like a natural disaster than an evil monster person..... even the mighty Mr. Satan may not be able to contend with buu... but just like with cell, I believe our lord and savior, champion Satan will find a way to put down that pink pudgy prankster for good. Hail satan.

2023-08-11 06:59:09 +0000 UTCI mean goku is pretty dumb and ignorant. He is bad at social situations. He will never hold down a job, he is (like vegeta) very self centered and he would eat anything. Abridged did address that though at first it was just food. Most importantly he isn't just a strong punch man. He is a savant with conflict.Tfs touched on it atleast twice that comes to mind. When in the hypertonic lion tamer, he is explaining trunks bulky form with gohan and he is talking percentages and when piccolo is yelling at goku about making gohan fight cell.

2023-08-11 06:46:20 +0000 UTCGoku is also thinking in the long term here. Bulma made a grave mistake here. If things don't go as planned and those same people die, they are gone. Plus the dragon balls could be used for more creative ways to solve the buu problem if things got too bad. The Majin Brothers have no idea what a dragon ball is so the team could use those wishes whenever they wanted. With bulma feeling bad/guilty about her baby daddy killing peopland selfishly selflessly wishing people back to feel better she lost the use of creative wishes for 4 months. Story telling wise, the writer is saying "the dragon balls can not be used to help solve Majin buu. They have to figure it out with what they got. Plus goku won't be in the mortal realm long and he isn't strong enough....only the world's mist powerful man can defeat him. It is soon Mr. Satan's time to neutralize that bad menace Majin buu. You will soon see he isn't the hero you want but the hero you need. Praise be to Mr. Satan, the herculean savior of earth.

2023-08-11 06:22:28 +0000 UTCSeemingly there's no limit to the amount of lives Shenron can bring back with a single wish. Just that they all fall under the first rule, that once they're revived. They cannot be revived again. Shenron's power is limited by the guardian of earth as well, with Dende being the current holder of that title. He more or less sets the "rules" of Shenron. Although by empowering certain wishes, it will impose limits to the amount of wishes Shenron can wish. Originally, Shenron could only grant one wish.

2023-08-11 05:08:33 +0000 UTCThanks for giving us this info. We probably got some of these rules in abridged at some point but it may have been earlier on and there are a lot of rules for them haha. So now it makes more sense. Except for #2. Buu has already wiped out 2 cities (from what we’ve seen so far in the show). What is the limit or max lives per wish? Seems like it would take more than two wishes to bring back everyone Buu has killed so far

2023-08-11 04:40:25 +0000 UTCI mean it's kinda harsh to blame anything on Goku here as he is in difficult situation because of the restrictions for the earth Dragonball such as 1. you can't revive the same person twice 2. Shenron is able to revive a large group of people with a single wish, provided the means of their deaths are related in some fashion however if it's too many people then Shenron will have to use two of the wishes from the three as it consumes a lot of energy 3. If you revive a group of people then it can't be those people who have been died for more than a year so because of this Goku didn't have much of a choice but not to use those two remaining wishes so they would only need to wait for four months to use the dragon balls again to fix anything else Buu would do after those four months instead of waiting a whole year if they used the two remaining wishes now Also with regards to them just wishing for Buu to be sealed up back in ball that wish wouldn't work as another restriction 4. Shenron Can't kill beings stronger than him, neither affect them negatively or significantly against their will so because Buu is stronger than Shenron, he won't be able to seal Buu back in that ball against Buu's will as Buu wouldn't want that. Sorry if I wrote to much i hope this was understandable
Zaid
2023-08-10 23:59:06 +0000 UTCAkira Toriyama (the creator) was pretty big on Gags and Comedy and prefers it over the big fights of the series. His editors often pushed him in certain directions. When he was working on this arc, he wanted it to be the last and didn't want any interferences in the story, so that would probably explain why he went back a bit into his roots by making Majin Buu a more childish villain compared to Frieza and Cell

2023-08-10 22:31:07 +0000 UTCThe rules of resurrection are not too consistent, or explained, so I can understand the confusion, but Gohan most certainly never died.
Yanpo
2023-08-10 21:23:15 +0000 UTCThen you can reattach him a little to the abridged version when you start watching DBSuper. Not too much though! Just a little.
Yanpo
2023-08-10 21:20:47 +0000 UTCGuys you keep underestimating and downplaying goku, but this is not abridged if he is acting like this there's a reason, you should separate the two characters.

2023-08-10 20:15:28 +0000 UTCThe thing is Gohan never died, Supreme Kai masked his energy so no one would find him, that’s why when he and Kibito found him he was still in critical condition
