From a pure lore perspective, the Great War is probably the most important World of Remnant they released. Not only does it elaborate on the things that Ozpin said during Volume 2 - about why people are named after colors, but it also gives context to what Cinder said in Volume 3 when she took over the broadcast and started the Battle of Beacon. I would advise re-watching the Great War, and also put into context the things we've learned in Volume 4 - Ozpin now being in Oscar's head, as well as what Qrow said about the Relics during the scene around the campfire, and see if you can make some more connections that you might not have if you were watching the Great War and only picking out the social commentary aspects. :)
